“Close to town, easy walk. Lovely view of mountains.”

“Stayed 3 nights in Oct. Room was small, no sitting chairs, nice bath with a walk in shower. Kettle only with instant coffee, tea provided. Small fridge and hot plate all in nice condition. Review comments are real - one end of the building has bar/smoker noise, the other has the kitchen exhaust, the front has street noise. Balcony rooms are near the kitchen exhaust, which runs from 9a to nearly 9p. Balcony looks out on the wall behind building & parking lot. Close to options of beach, walking,...

“The lovely cleaner Christine let us in one room early as we had to attend a wedding. She was very polite and helpful. We would stay there again.”

“The staff was very friendly and helpful so many things to do around the area.”

“The park is in a beautiful position. The pool was clean and large enough for a decent swim. The room was musty but ok was one the windows are open.”

“Wanted to be in nature and this was a perfect spot for it.”

“Hillcrest Mountain View Retreat is a hidden sanctuary. We hit the jackpot when we were searching for accommodation in the area to attend a wedding. Its location is nothing short of spectacular and the 360 views are breathtaking. Hosts Craig and Paul were so warm and welcoming, and a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Our room had such a comfortable bed with everything we needed and many more extras. The deck was made for unwinding with a daybed and hammock inviting you to linger and...

“Cabin was clean and had everything you would need plus extras. Kitchen well equipped, lounge and bed very comfortable. Nice to sit outside on the veranda. Only downside was the bathroom is very small and hard to use the sink to clean teeth plus one side of the bed is against a wall. But overall a great place to stay for a few days.”

“An excellent example of a small motel. Family run. Perfectly maintained. Friendly service.”

“Tried to rebook directly - rang the door buzzer/ left written messages but no dice - need to give feedback on the room quote urgently”

“Absolutely loved the room from check in to check out Highly recommend”

“Such a restful place to stay. Could watch the changing tides and birdlife all day long. Apart from needing a car to do shopping and go on outings (which we managed to organise thanks to family), there was nothing else we needed.”

“Great stay with a 9 year old, enough to keep him entertained for the week. Staff were extremely helpful.”

“Location was AMAZING! Couldn’t ask for a better view or environment to be in. Lodge was clean and perfect for our stay. Only suggestion was the cafe/dining being open longer.”

“Fantastic location, a little noisy at night, right next door to the pub, but generally all quiet by 11pm. If you’re early to bed before that it may bother you.”

“Very beautiful estate. A little expensive, but worth it if you feel like splurging a bit.”

“The room was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. We also enjoyed the thai around the corner and coffee shop which was open from 5am. Overall, a very convenient and pleasant stay. Just avoid having a room 1 to 3 and its close to the street and right above the restaurant which didnt quiet down til 10:30”

“We were a group of 8 adults and 2 children. We had a great time staying at the property which was in the midst of a rainforest. Children had a great time and we had everything we wanted in the property itself. Bruce was really helpful in answering all of our questions ”
