Lovely restaurant but very busy when we arrived, so staff were rushed off their feet. Room was great. Bathroom was lovely. No air conditioning so we kept the window open. Quiet outside apart from birds waking us up at sunrise. Food in the restaurant was excellent although we had to wait for a table. There was no discount on offer for residents.

Cannot really fault The Sutherland. The room was spotless, the bathroom spotless, the bed comfortable. I stayed 2 nights for work the room, whilst small, was more than adequate for my needs. The restaurant is fantastic. The pace of service perfect for me, I did not feel at all rushed. The food was not only presented beautifully, but was delicious. I cannot recommend the duck breast highly enough! I stay in hotels regularly with my work and The Sutherland is now on my Go To list.

This is a very popular and recently renovated hotel. The restaurant can be extremely busy, but no problem in booking as a resident. Quite an extensive menu and good range of drinks - not surprising as part of a small pub company.

Staff were all courteous and Hotel is really nice. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and the food was amazing. Prices very reasonable. My only negative was the size of our double room! It was really only big enough for a single bed and we were very cramped. Bathroom was lovely though.

I was unfortunately in an incredibly warm room (in part due to weather, but also the orientation which meant it got the full evening sun and no breeze) - this was room 104. The room was a decent size and reasonably clean, but given the weather, which is it being made up with a duvet and no sheet underneath (between that and the bed). The bathroom had cracked floor tiles which were very uneven with sharp edges and there was toothpaste marks splashed all over the wall by the sink, which means the cleaning wasn't that thorough. Also the open ended shower ends up absolutely soaking the floor, so you have to mop it up with the bath mat. I should have stayed in a premier inn.

Hotel from outside doesn’t do it justice as is amazing inside. Very modern and plush. Room Positives - very modern, had all the mod cons (iron, ironing board, safe and tower fan) decorate really well and furniture etc very nice. Had a coffee machine with pods for coffee lovers. Room Negatives - room way too small - struggled with the bathroom and shower being small too. Room also very hot so made use of the tower fan. Restaurant evening - food was exceptional and definitely recommend. Great atmosphere too. Breakfast - made to order so very fresh and enjoyed it very much. Parking - lots of parking at the hotel. Overall will definitely be coming again however will ask not to be in the room we had again. Thank you for a lovely stay at the hotel, staff were friendly and one lady went out of her way for me in the morning due to a little emergency I had. Absolutely coming back again.

Very pleasant stay overall, with a cosy and well-maintained room. The service was excellent throughout — Alex and his team were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help, which made a real difference to the experience. The food was another highlight, with excellent quality at both dinner and breakfast. The team also showed great flexibility in accommodating special requests, which was very much appreciated.
