It was a hot weekend & the room was extremely hot. A very small, ineffective fan was in the room but it made little difference. The room in the coach house was small & looked dated but it was clean. The staff were all very friendly and efficient.

Nice country hotel with a reasonable restaurant for dinner and very nice breakfast Restaurant overlooks well kept gardens and it would have been lovely to eat alfresco on the terrace had the May weather been kinder. Comfortable room with good tea/coffee making facilities….. fresh milk in the refrigerator every day which was a nice touch. Comfortable shared sitting room in the main house. We stayed 3 nights this quiet hotel mid-May and had an enjoyable stay. Parking was easy. We ate one night at The Cornish Arms in Tavistock ( 10 min drive) which can be recommended.

Liked the hotel set in quiet country location, room was spacious and clean with all amenities you would expect. Bed was very comfortable, and excellent power shower although we were informed on check in that the bathroom window was broken and couldn’t be opened. Both dinner and breakfast were fine on the quality but lacking in quantity; very small portions. Other customers were also commenting on this issue at dinner. Whilst the service overall was ok the service at breakfast was very slow and extra toast ordered was forgotten with the waitress offering a lacklustre apology and we weren’t asked how our stay was at checkout which is something I would expect to be asked after a stay at this type of hotel.

Lovely and relaxing Great place for us only 6/7min. From our daughter as we came to visit We would of loved if was air-conditioning in rooms, but as we had fans in your room was very helpful in the hottest day/nights. When fans are quiet, we did have one loud fan on one occasion we stayed But overall great place brilliant breakfast & food , staff very perlite,welcoming and helpful ,views fabulous we would definitely stay again Thank you horn of plenty Mr & Mrs Matthews

This is a gem of a find ..it’s a country house close to Tavistock Devon..you will need a car. The restraint is Michelin rated and it does not disappoint. The breakfast was outstanding with many choices. If you are lucky enough to stay here you’ll want to return again.
