This is an old hunting lodge type hotel with plenty of old character; displaying stuffed animals, everyday items from yesterday year hanging from the ceilings, walls or perched on windowsills! Each of the 40 plus rooms upstairs were named by European cities as well as numbered. You had an old fashioned key to open & close your room! Our room 'Turku' was a tad stuffy, although there was a ceiling fan or windows to open as an option.
Breakfast had a good selection of hot & cold, cereals, pastries & fruit etc. Coffee was very good, as you would expect in Estonia!
A bit of an over-the-top fakery of Olde Worlde German, and further out of town than I'd have liked (but that did mean that parking was easy), but overall pretty good. Excellent breakfast, and the food in their main restaurant is also very good. Could have done with better quality bed clothes (duvet was too flimsy, pillow too large and hard), but a small point among many good ones. Good value for money overall
Charming and unique hotell in Tartu city centre. Was visiting friends who had a car, so don't really know how easy or not it was to get around, but it's a small town.
Tried to use the room as an office one day, but table and chairs were not perfect for that.
Otherwise cool design and all.
