This is a solid option for a budget conscious traveller or someone looking for charm and character without paying the high prices down on the waterfront. Amenities are acceptable and the staff is very accommodating. Breakfast was also excellent with a good cross section of options.

Beautiful property and most of the staff are very nice with just one notable exception. The bar man is moody and borderline rude the way he treats his customers unless they happen to be American in which case he's quite chatty for some reason. The rooms are fairly basic with wardrobe space but no drawers. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms so if you need a drink you have to pay €5 for a cup of tea if the bar is open,otherwise do without. The rooms have a nice little balcony and the hotel garden and pool is lovely but there were many mosquitos. Unfortunately our bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable

This was a standout hotel for our Italy trip. The hotel is stylish with good communal areas, places to sit etc. The room was really comfortable with a balcony from which we see the lake … including a lightening storm behind the mountains The pool was really clean with lots of beds. Cool -but weather so warm that it was good The staff were friendly and polite EV charging (4 hours at approx 30 euros) Ferry was 3 mins walk and town was 15 mins walk …along an enchanting path to the beautiful town of Stresa. I understand there are a couple of local, more basic restaurants and hotel has one Would 100% recommend

Camera pulita, posizione ideale per il lungolago e parcheggio utilissimo. Colazione varia e abbondante. Nota negativa aria condizionata non funzionante ad agosto in un hotel con questi prezzi inaccettabile, e cosa ancor più inaccettabile non essere avvisati al check-in e scoprirlo dopo in autonomia. E’ stato fornito ventilatore cigolante…Poca cura della camera con ad esempio gancio porta asciugami staccato…

Lovely little boutique hotel with a pool and bar as well as a wonderful breakfast. Conveniently located near a ferry pier and a short walk to the lake. The AC was down while we were there. The staff was very helpful with fans. Great value!

The Royal is a classic vintage resort hotel in the classic vintage resort of Stresa. Nothing flashy, which I prefer. The front desk service goes above and beyond, which I needed because I didn’t check in the first night due to storms in Milan but got there early the next morning. The satisfactory breakfast is in a large, pleasant room open to the garden. The view from my room was very nice, out over trees and Lago Maggiore to the mountains. I had a balcony I wished I had more time to use. I liked the hardwood floors and Oriental rugs. It’s a little out of the center of town so requires a 15 minute walk to the center. But it is very quiet and there is a convenient ferry stop for the Borromeo Islands at the end of the road it is located on. I would return.

Wir haben 5 Nächte verbracht....Mehr als alle anderen und waren enttäuscht ein Zimmer unten neben der Toilette bekommen zu haben. 5 Uhr früh wurden Lieferung gebracht...Schlafen war nicht. Schade Frühstück war prima,sonst Ausstattungen ok

This hotel is really worn down. We were a bit disappointed with the state of the hotel and especially the rooms needed renovation. The squeaky floors from the neighbors woke us up in the morning and the refrigerator was also really noisy. We could hear everything that was going on in the hallway and the rooms next door. The atmosphere was 1970’s, in a cool way, but things were just a little too worn. Location was really good and the pool area was nice.

Schönes Hotel am Lago Maggiore. Die Zimmer sind sauber und das Bad ist angemessen. Sicherlich ist das Hotel etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber groß zu bemängeln gibt es nichts am. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist ausreichend. Der Zimmerbalkon ist schön und ausreichend groß. Die Poolanlage wird eng, wenn sich viele Gäste am Pool wiederfinden. Da kann es schon mal sein, dass man keinen Platz bekommt. Die Dachterrasse ist groß, war aber leider nicht geöffnet. Der Zusatzparkplatz für die Autos muss unbedingt in Ordnung gebracht werden. Da herrscht Chaos bei den ganzen Büschen und Bäumen. Geordnetes Parken ist unmöglich. Wir waren zu frieden. Preisleistung ist gut.

Wir waren im Hotel Royal 9 Tage rundherum glücklich! Unser Zimmer (102) lag im Erdgeschoss nahe am Pool und war gerade für Senioren ideal mit ebenerdiger großer Dusche und kleiner Terrasse vor der Tür. Der Poolbereich ist sehr hübsch bepflanzt, es gibt Liegen, Sonnenschirme und Handtücher, Pool und Whirlpool waren immer sauber und frisch. Die Lobby ist sehr elegant möbliert und mit frischen Blumen dekoriert. Das Frühstück im Freien neben Oleander und Zitronenbäumen war wunderbar und die Auswahl typisch italienisch hauptsächlich süß, aber auch mit Rührei, Wurst, Käse, Obst und Joghurt. Die riesige Dachterrasse mit schönen Pflanzen war unser Lieblingsort, der Blick auf den See und die Inseln ist umwerfend! Unser besonderer Dank geht an das großartige Team: alle sind überdurchschnittlich herzlich, fleißig und hilfsbereit, jeder gibt alles um die Gäste glücklich zu machen. Die Zimmer werden täglich gereinigt und es gibt frische Handtücher. Das Hotel liegt keine 5 Minuten vom See und der Promenade entfernt, zum Bahnhof läuft man ca. 10 Minuten und ins Zentrum ca. 15. Wir kommen wieder!

We loved our stay here. A beautiful, old style property with beautiful gardens, lovely old furnishings with lots of artwork on the walls. Phenomenal views from the rooftop area, which is sadly underutilized. Great lake views from many of the rooms. 20 minute walk into Stresa along a lovely walkway on the lake edge. Good breakfast as well. Highly recommended
