“It’s a picturesque old pub with an extensive garden area and a large parking space. It’s quite classy indoors and we were impressed by both the sophisticated dinner menu and the food itself - very good.We were welcomed warmly and shown to the Cowdray Room, which opens on to the beer garden. That wasn’t a problem as the pub closes at 10, and then it was an advantage as we were able to sit outside for breakfast with the place to ourselves. The pub will cook breakfast but not until 10.30 am, so...

“The property was in a fairytale house in a magical location. All the little extra touches - such as bathrobes and slippers. daily complimentary water, chocolate etc - were truly the icing on the cake. The staff showed a real pride in working at the Castle and truly helped to set the atmosphere. Check-in and out were brilliant. The restaurant was superb with a jaw-dropping view of the Castle and sumptuous breakfast. If you think I seem enthusiastic it is because I am!”

“Advertised as an apartment with breakfast included. But in reality is a chalet bedroom and ensuite. Breakfast was 2 mini yogurts in the fridge, a couple of tiny croissants and cereals. Beverages are DIY. Check in is via a member of staff behind the bar in the pub. Unresponsive to phone calls with the number provided prior to the stay where I attempted to know if there was possibility of an earlier check-in but since not being able to get through I had to check-in at the standard 3pm. “Too many rules stuck everywhere in the property. The lady that attended to us was impolite over the phone. Properrty difficult to locate. Need for signposts on the roads close to property.”
