I work a lot in the area and Palmers Ale House is my only choice when it comes to finding somewhere to stay. The food is fabulous, lovely staff and a good selection beers and wines to choose from!

Nice place, good food, breakfast only from 08:30 so not brilliant for business travellers - I did get a breakfast box of pastries (though I'd ordered a bacon butty), which were OK and filled a hole! My dog was made very welcome, but had to be carried up the steps to the rooms only having little paws and not fancying the grated steps. The lovely lady at the very quiet mid-week bar was really helpful in indicating an excellent local walk - thankyou! Good location, just shy of any work in Norfolk - overnight parking in the marketplace (free from 18:00 to 08:00, then restricted) was easy and convenient. Comfortable room, very reasonable price - I'd stay again, but not with my dog when she's too heavy to easily carry up the stairs!

Return visits don't disappoint

I think this is the 3rd or 4th time I've stayed at Palmers and as always the staff were really welcoming. the pub has a great ambience and the food is excellent. Rooms are small but very clean and comfortable.

Perfect for work

Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere of the pub was perfect after a decent drive and the choice of beers were great. Room was clean, comfortable and breakfast was made for my early check out. Will definitely stay here next time I'm in the area

Best place to stay in the area

Nice accommodation, rather small room with only a small top roof window, but very nice and modern bathroom. Super soft bed. Lovely people in the adjoining pub with great food and service

Pleasant pub and surrounding town.

Short business stay, very welcoming staff, nice breakfast. Booked single bed rooms just because it was overnight stay, room quite small but comfortable and I think price fairly reflected this, not overly expensive. Downstairs bar was nice, staff helpful and polite. Small town with a few dotted businesses and pubs helped pass time when not at work.

A hidden gem. Nice room, and a good breakfast. The pub looked good restaurant looks good. There is no car park but this is not a problem. Ample on street parking from just outside the door.

An excellent find!

I was impressed as soon as I walked in. I have family in the area and have stopped in a number of different places, this is the first time that I've thought I'd come back to a place. The main pub is very clean and tidy with excellent, friendly staff. I stayed in a single room, it had all that I needed, was spotless, and to top it all, the shower was amazing. I'll definitely be back.

Overnight stop. Check timings & parking.

One night stay in single room . The service was excellent, staff were very helpful and friendly. The single room is small with no window just a skylight. Parking is in the street limited to 2hr between 8 and 4, but free overnight. Breakfast starts at 0830, but they offered a sandwich if needed before times. Dinner was reasonable. Nicely presented . Check it time is 5pm.

The staff were friendly and the rooms are clean and modern. They lack a desk which would be useful and the WiFi code wasn’t provided. The main issue is that breakfast was not available until 08:30 which isn’t of any use if you need to get somewhere for work. A box of pastries was left by the door, but it’s not a healthy option. For my second night I had to buy breakfast from the coop for additional coffee and some healthier fruit options. So I paid twice for breakfast.

Exceptional Stay at Palmers Ale House & Kitchen

I recently stayed at Palmers, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable. My college who I was travelling with managed to book the following day but the staff quickly got a room ready. The check-in process was seamless, and I was warmly welcomed by a member of staff. The room was immaculate and well-appointed, with tea & coffee making facilities, soap, shampoo and conditioner. The room was warm and cozy. One of the standout aspects was the amazing tasty food and the breakfast had a variety of fresh and tasty options, catering to different dietary needs. Throughout my stay, the team demonstrated exceptional hospitality, always ready to assist with a smile. I highly recommend Palmers for anyone seeking a family-friendly getaway or business-friendly environment. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Always a pleasure staying here, very attentive staff and very good eye and ear for allergies. The room I was supposed to stay in, had a bad smoking odor. Luckily I could stay in another room. Nice diner, very nice breakfast.
