Vacations Close To South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center

Family of 3 (mom, dad, 4y/o). First time at South Padre and it was an okay time. Waited for our room to be ready in a beautiful lobby but when we got to our room the bathroom was gross (rusted shower parts in the tub, tub stains), weird smell in the room (most likely from the cleaning product they used. very overwhelming). Asked for a different room since even my toddler said the bathroom was gross and didnt want to bath there (they happily accommodated). We couldn't put the AC lower than 65 due to foggy and humidity issues (they even made us sign a waiver stating that if we did drop the AC lower than 65 and caused any damage to room that we would be charged for it - crazy to be on vacation at a beach hotel and not have fully capacity of the AC). Lobby was constantly had wet floors from pool traffic which is understandable but knowing this the hotel should have staff mopping more frequently or carpeting. Restrooms in the lobby weren't in the best condition for the same reason - pool traffic. Overall had an OK time and we checked out a day early cause I was over it. probably wouldn't stay there again.

I've stayed in many other hotels by far this has been the worst,Room was not dirty but as soon as we arrived to the door of our room there was tiny cockroaches around the door knob and as soon as we walked in there was alot of roaches on the walls and on the bed frame poles, the only reason we stayed was because I was very tired after an early work day and almost 9 hr drive from Dallas, wasn't really able to have a good sleep because I was worried the roaches would get on me thinking there might also be bed bugs even, DO NoT Recommend!!

I enjoyed a restful stay ad I watched the ocean from my hotel room. The staff were courteous and helpful. Love the food.
