Check-in clerk was very good - first words after good evening was “the elevator is not working and gushing with apologies” she was able to find us a first floor room as my wife has major back issues and trouble walking let alone stairs Room was modernized recently and very comfortable. Breakfast was all the normal Hampton food but added chocolate batter to waffle - different Very pleasurable overnight stay but expected to be closer to beach area for the price we paid. Would stay there again for an overnight

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The only issue was an outdoor party going on until 1:30 a.m. right below our window preventing us from sleeping. They were right outside the lobby but it appeared that the staff didn't care if it was disruptive for the other guests.

Except for the hashbrowns the breakfast was great. The breakfast host was pleasant and helpful. Dining area had outside seating. The outside area for dogs was spacious with shade providing trees. The elevator was was not operating during our visit. In the future I will check out this detail before booking. We are in our 70's, had our dog with us and stayed for 3 nights. The pool area was also closed the first 2 days. When it did open the entire area was super clean, hot tub was hot and the pool was cool but not cold. Perfect.

I stay here pretty regularly and it’s usually great, but the room was not as clean as it normally is - there was hair on the shower wall. Not sure how housekeeping missed it since it was at eye height and literally the first thing I saw. The bedding seemed nice and clean and the beds were comfortable. I did not have breakfast or use the pool this trip. It’s nice that they have good coffee in the lobby all day.

Great experience with Hampton Inn South Haven as usual. They always have an excellent breakfast service. This time the elevator was shut down for service which would have been nice to know but Expedia did not tell us. Otherwise a great stay and we will be back!
