The single room was filthy, especially the layers of dirt and grime on the window blinds that showed it hadn't been cleaned in years. Many signs mentioned coffee in the breakfast, but there was none. Luckily, another traveler had their own supply, and kindly shared it. Staff were hard to find without a phone call, which is not an option for all travelers.

英語のスタッフがチェックイン対応してくれて、不自由なく過ごせました。 部屋は2人分のスーツケースを広げられるだけのスペースがあり居心地もよかったです。 水周りが少し古めでしたが値段に対してとても満足なお部屋でした。

他の方の口コミとおり、チェックイン時には、レセプションに誰もスタッフはおらず、名前と部屋番号の書かれたメモ、キーが置いてあり、セルフチェックインとなります。 韓国人は、曖昧な説明でも対応できるのかも知れませんが、各国の方々は、事細かなインストラクション(例えば、タオル交換、部屋清掃が必要な場合は、ドアノブに、デスク引出し内の掲示札を使って、ドア外に意思表示するなど)がないとわからないです。 建物は古く綺麗とは言えないですが、タオル、ベッドは清潔。 残念なことに、部屋の洗面の配管が繋がっておらず、洗面からの水が床にダダ漏れだったのは問題と思います。 あと、浴室の電灯が切れたことをスタッフに伝えたが、「確認します」と言った後に、結局対応してくれませんでした。 地下の食堂には、朝、食パンとカップ麺が置いてあり、セルフサービスとなってたのはありがたかった。 また、地下には洗濯機があるが、フロントに記載の問い合わせ電話番号(オーナー？)にかけて確認した際には、洗濯機使用不可と強く言われましたが、ゲストハウススタッフに聞くと自由に使って良いとのこと。 最後に、宿泊レビューにゲストハウスについて良いことを書いてくれると約束した人には、無料で焼酎プレゼントとの記載があり、不適切だと思いました。

チェックイン前、荷物を預かってくれます。明洞まで徒歩圏内で立地が良いです。明洞駅から徒歩で普通に向かうと、坂がかなりキツいので、まずは南山公園と南山駐車場を目指して、エスカレーターを見つけてください。それを利用すれば、楽にホテルまで移動できます。スタッフさんは英語は通じます。日本語は通じません。また、基本的には留守です。ルームメイクの時間帯は、いらっしゃるようです。部屋は清潔感ありましたが掃除を依頼するタグが部屋によっては無い為、連泊の場合はメモ帳など持っていって貼っておくと良いと思いました。

駅から急な坂道しかないです。人通りも街灯も少なく夜だと怖いとこにあるので、非常に立地が悪いです。 シャワールームの流れはあまり良くないです。タオルもシミがついていて少し不快でした。

チェックイン、チェックアウトも特に手続きなくとても自由な感じでした。コーヒーがいつでも飲めるのは嬉しい。スタッフは常駐ではない？のかもしれませんがメッセージでやりとりしました。丁寧に対応頂けて良かったです。寝る分には十分な空間です。坂道がちょっと大変ですが、静かな場所を求める方にはいいかも。

There are better options for the price

If I had to sum it up in one word, I would call it grim. This is a hostel, not a hotel. And not the most community friendly or picturesque hostel I've stayed at. I honestly have to question if the other reviews aren't shill reviews or fakes. We had some last minute travel changes and booked online with little info and little knowledge of the city. Our family of four was not presented with a lot of options, but I believe that to be my poor patience and limited listings on the site we used rather than an actual lack of rooms in the area. The location is OK, but not great as you have to haul your luggage about one km up the hill from the subway station. There are many other guest houses that are more central to the Meyong Dong shopping and restaurants. No one was at the desk upon our arrival. We called and the host showed up to give us our key and show the room. Contrary to the other reviews, we never saw the owners. We also never saw the staff again. Our room had the remnants of a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and only two towels for our four. On the second day we discovered it was "stock your own" by searching the cabinets in the common area. The community room is tiny and in the windowless basement. Clever use of mirrors make it seem larger, but there are only two tables. The mattresses stick springs in your back. We pre-paid for four nights. It was bad enough that we left and rented a new hotel room for the remainder of our trip, eating the cost.

かわいい部屋ですが少し掃除が…

ロフト形式の3ベッド部屋に2泊しました。 上段のベッド周辺は掃除しにくいのか、前泊者と思われる髪の毛が数本… 浴室の換気扇も弱いのでタオルやベッドが少し湿気ていました。 浴室はキレイに掃除されていました。 エアコンを除湿モードで外出すると湿気はなく普通だったのでかけっぱなしをおすすめします。 ゲストハウスなので割りきれば問題ないですが、廊下や共有スペースは清潔なので部屋の汚さがちょっと目立ってしまったかも… 深夜～朝に若い女性スタッフをみましたが誰も常駐していない時があります。 宿まではミョンドン駅一番出口から急な坂が2つ程あります。 タクシーではリラアート学校までと伝え坂を上ったセブンイレブン前で降り、左手の脇道を道なりに進むと右手に緑の屋根があります。途中でMと看板が見えますが違いますので注意！！

Stay at a Hilly Korean Guest House

We stayed 3 nights here. It was high up a hill, clean, neat, and musical. The owner liked to play classical music and had many musical instruments in the common area. The breakfast included orange juice and eggs, which you don't always find in a Korean guest house. The owner was a little grumpy, but I suppose that is part of Korean culture at times. He watched us to be sure we took off our shoes and locked the main door when we left for the day. He needs to smile more! And he really needs to instal a railing for the steep stairs that led down to our room which was roomy and had a large, clean bathroom where kids could play like it was a little pool. Although our room was in the basement and had no windows, it was quiet and peaceful. Overall, a nice place to stay for a couple or a family.
