“We stayed over for the concert at the open air. The hotel was clean and well maintained- all the staff were polite and friendly. Our room was clean. The bar was lovely and the restaurant and breakfast was perfect. The en-suite was very small but clean. The only thing that would have meant full star rating would have been a better parking arrangement, - a quality mattress and blackout curtains. That being said we would definitely stay here again.”

“The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Our luggage was safely stored when we checked out. The room was tidy and had a nice bathroom. Included in the room was a kettle and a nice selection of coffee and tea. The breakfast had a good variety of tasty food including a full cooked breakfast, omelettes, toasties and smoked salmon bagels. The hotel is close to North Bay beach, Peasholm Park, Scarborough Castle, South Bay Beach, the North Bay Miniature Railway and Sealife Scarborough...

“Very welcoming host, the room had an amazing veiw. Very clean, good variety of tea, coffee and a hot chocolate. The bottle of water in the fridge was a godsend when I got back after a long day. Breakfast was very tasty, full english with a glass of fruit juice and a pot of tea( or coffee). It was so helpful being able to drop my bag off before check in... Which when I arrived I was able to check in early. Also I could leave my bag there when I checked out, meaning I didn't have to lug it around...

“Amazing property, nice to stay out of Scarborough and have a peaceful village to retreat back too. The accommodation is so well decorated and has the wow factor. Highly recommend. Plus the pub is over the road with great food. Best for families with a car as not easy to get to on public transport. We’ll be back again very soon to try out another property in your collection.”

“The hotel was reasonable but def not worth the £311 we paid for a night! I appreciate the concert being on drove the price up but was def not worth anything like that price. The room was fairly big but old and dated. The bathroom was again massive but quite dated also. There were some marks on the carpet that looked like burn marks and again for the price should not be there. The staff were great, could not fault them. We didn’t get to use the spa so can’t comment on that and the breakfast was...

“Windows were absolutely filthy, we paid more for a sea view room but struggled to see out of the filthy window. Lift needs updating as if residents didn't shut the gate it would not work and have to use the stairs.. very difficult with luggage and mobility issues...”

“The included breakfast was fantastic. Many options and the fresh fruit salad was good quality. Clean and useful bedroom and bathroom with comfy bed and duvet. We had 6 flights of stairs to our room which was fine and expected. The location is a long way from the seaside action but again, expected.”

“Habitacion estandar un poco sucia y abandonada. Cuadros y tv torcidos, falta de reparacion de pomos y otras cosas rotas, polvo ... Cable electrico suelto (parecia conexion de tierra) y lleno de polvo debajo del lavabo. Ascensor averiado afectando a numerosos huespedes con discapacidad y con dificultad para subir escaleras con equipaje. Habia fallado varios dias seguidos. Habitacion muy ruidosa por los nidos de aves marinas en las ventanas. Ruido continuo que interrumpe el sueño. Entra...

“Stayed here whilst attending a concert at the open air theatre. Absolute little gem of a place. Staff super friendly , bedroom was lovely, bar and bar garden fab, breakfast was nice and car park at rear.”

“The bedroom & en suite were very tastefully decorated, with the decor exactly to our taste! The Bella Rose coffee shop was used throughout our stay & the staff were very welcoming & accommodating. The 15% discount was used each time we ate there which was a bonus as thought it might be a one-off. Peasholm Park on the doorstep was a huge plus too! My only criticism of our stay was that I made the owners aware that I was allergic to fur & feathers beforehand & I particularly queried any cushions...

“Booked for just one night to attend a nearby wedding. Room was a twin in a block of 4 located in the car park behind the pub. Modern bathroom and comfortable bedroom with TV, tea/coffee, hairdryer etc. Rooms are traditional rather than modern but fit in with the main pub. Breakfast was excellent - full English with cereal/juice/toast all available. Handy for many east coast locations with lovely scenery very close.”

“Not beach views as it's on a back street . room 208 needs painting on walls and a fan in bath room as you can not open windows as they are wooden windows and could not open. the staff was nice . the hotel needs alot of work to get up to todays 3 star rating.”
