This hotel is in a lovely position on the side of the River and just 3 mins walk to the town. It is also one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed at. Highly recommend.

Nice location, easy to get to from train station and central to everything in town and the walking district. Room was nice and clean. Staff was very kind and helpful. Staff was flexible with check out which was great since we had to leave early. Breakfast was good but simple so if you are looking for more options, just note. If you have any food restrictions, not sure if you can mention ahead of time, but limited options of you have a dairy or gluten allergy. Note if you have trouble with stairs, you have to do stairs to get to the rooms.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had a wonderful view of the river. Breakfast was not free, but was reasonably priced and the variety of food was good. There was plenty of free parking across the street by the river. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Great location and a good 2 star hotel

Small hotel that states 2 star but the room was clean and suitable for a short stay the breakfast was good. The hotel is within easy walking distance from the town shops and restaurants. There is parking in a church car park behind the hotel which is free after 1830 and all Sunday, there is some building works going on but this did not impact uas at all.

Refurbished and comfortable

A small, refurbished boutique hotel by the Loire and minutes from the town centre. Nice staff. Breakfast is typical for a small place. I enjoyed my stay. Just note the restricted opening times for reception - important if your arrival falls outside the time frame

Great budget stay for 2 nights. Staff was excellent, breakfast was a good value and good. What we did not like was steep stairs, no elevator or refrigerator. Room and bathroom adequate size. I would stay again in season, but room did not have A/C and was warm one night.

Very traditional older hotel in a good location. Small room which was very warm with not much floor space at all didn’t make for great comfort or much sleep. Owner very friendly and good breakfast

Massive roadworks right outside the hotel, not informed before arriving at all. When queried owner was very rude and refused to accept this was an issue. So loud we refused to check in or stay!

Booked two nights at this appart hotel. We booked for three people however when we got there the accommodation was only for two people. The third person had to sleep on a “Canapé” which was totally inadequate for sleeping. You normally expect at least a sofa bed. The hotel also provided us with only one pod for the coffee machine making you ask why do they bother at all. I would go somewhere else next time.

It was unacceptable. Massive construction right outside the door. Started at 7 am. Couldn’t park near hotel even to unload. Room up 2 staircases, narrow twisting stairs. One of us 81 years old! We had to leave. I will be contacting Expedia for compensation. Totally unacceptable!

This was my second time at the Rive Gauche. I stayed for one night to break up my journey from the west coast of France back to England. The hotel had everything I needed. I spent a pleasant evening in Saumur and made an early start the next morning. It's a great little hotel, in a very nice, convenient lication.
