Mouse in room | High price, low value
Around 12am on our 3rd night, we awoke to sounds of a mouse scurrying around. We opened the doors and scooted it out onto the second story patio. Checking the room, we then found several droppings.
We called front desk, who told us there were no rooms we could move to. They sent cleaners to vacuum our room and change bedding, which finished about 1am.
The next morning, we spoke with the front desk manager, who offered to refund our resort fees ($55 per day). They offered to clean the room again, which we accepted, telling them we would be gone most of the day.
That night, we found the mouse was back in the room. We chased it out again, but didn’t bother calling the front desk again (they’d repeated that morning that the lodge was full).
In the morning, we went down to speak with the front desk manager again, and provided the video we took of the mouse. We headed home, and got a call from the front desk manager the next day, offering to refund us either 1 night of our stay or our total incidentals bill (which was less than any one night's rate). They explained this was offered as it would be a faster way to refund us. We again expressed our disappointment — but said that if this was the offer, we want the larger refund, which would be 1 night of our stay.
Bishop’s Lodge is in a gorgeous natural setting, but at >$1000/night, we expect better cleanliness and service when things go wrong. This had a major impact on our experience.
