James, the bartender was fabulous! Bada Bing, bada bang if you know you know. We got stuck one day with really bad weather, but he made the day awesome. We met wonderful local folks and just had an overall great time. The rooms are more of an older motel style, but have been remodeled for a adorable modern vibe. The pool was beautiful.

The staff was excellent; Kudos to Zamir, Javier and James and the entire staff. The periodic odor from the seaweed is distracting and obviously beyond the control of the resort. The pool albeit small was very clean. This is a small resort with a lot of charm. However, it being older the hardware in the bathrooms and the linens needs upgrading. That did not prevent us from enjoying our stay.

Staff at Mata Rocks is exceptional, from the manager Ernesto to the bartenders and wait staff to the housekeeping staff. They helped with everything - cart rental, snorkel tours, restaurant recommendations... Room was very comfortable (except it needs reading lights for the beds.) Pool was fun and spotless, and the beach area was immaculate. Bonus points for having pickleball courts!
