Staff seemed very friendly. The hotel itself was pretty dated and elevator was slow and I had to use stairs to go down from the 5th floor. The room also dated and hard to find the outlets to charge my phone. I was there for one night in the end of June and I felt a bit cold in the room. Also I could hear someone screaming outside, of course it was not the hotel’s fault. I wish the city was much nicer environment. This hotel was very easy access to downtown attractions and only 30 mins bus ride to the beach too.

Ended up checking out the same day. Room musty bathroom not clean no refrigerator as advertised in room. Very bad area what they call the tender loin in SF a lot homelessness and drugs on streets near by. Did not feel safe. Booked package deal thru Expedia so Hotel refused any type of refund for the 4 nights booked. Still working with Expedia regarding refund but hotel refused. Would highly not recommend.

The front desk guy was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The room did not have AC and it was pretty warm the first day we were there but we were able to open up the windows and that was enough to keep our room comfy but if it was any hotter it would have been uncomfortable especially in the elevator and halls. The hotel’s location makes it easy to access different points of interest throughout the city, but the neighborhood is kinda sketchy once you get a couple blocks away (at night esp, but we didn’t have any problems at all) It was a clean cheap hotel centrally located with friendly staff, checked all the boxes for us besides AC. Parking lot is safe $30/night with an attendant there watching over during the day so I felt extra safe leaving my car all three days.

Definitely an old place, but I found it cool & interesting. Very art deco. Everything was clean and worked as it should. The people at the front desk were very friendly & helpful. We were close to the 5 bus which helped us get most places we needed to go. Apparently the area was supposed to be unsafe but I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary (Yes, there were unhoused people, some who were obviously having difficulty with mental or substance issues, but not more than any other large city). We got way more than expected with the price we paid.

Parking was easy though not especially secure, but reasonable value. The little coffee shop attached to the hotel is very nice, though with limited hours. There was aSunday Farmers' market in the plaza nearby that was an unexpected plus. The immediate neighborhood does not have many other places to eat. The broken smoke alarm was fixed promptly but not the dripping faucet; Having staff at the desk 24 hours a day is essential in that neighborhood--on one side it is fine but about two blocks away things get sketchy. Very good location otherwise, near BART and a Market St trolley line that goes all the way to fisherman's wharf.Staff were friendly and accommodating to requests.Remarkably good value overall.
