Having arrived into our room we were greate by a dirty chewed of finger bnail sitting on the side of the bed cabinet, bright orange stain on a pillow case and very obviously being a top floor room it has not been hoovered in a while. I made the check staff aware, informed we would be roaming out and about for a nhoutr or so but would appreciate the room being cleaned and spotless on muy retunr, photographic evidence was shared - having returned to my room the only update was a clean pillow case swapped over - I had to one more make the team aware nothing has been addresses - disappointing! What was missing over my two days stay was a check in. / follow up to confrim if all was okay - nothing - sadly it had a lasting dent on our stay.

Our room was clean but there was not a lot of storage space. A small hanging wardrobe but no chest of drawers/shelves/storage. Manageable if staying for one night but not if for longer. Very small fan supplied during hot weather, inadequate for room size. Breakfast staff very polite and helpful but breakfast was let down by under cooked eggs (making them inedible). Bar staff very friendly but there was a lot of swearing at the next table next to us in the bar area, so we moved elsewhere. Best part of our stay was enjoying a nightcap in the hotel Courtyard! Hotel was located in a nice spot within Rye but would we return? Unfortunately not!!

We loved everything about our stay at The George in Rye Hotel. The service at the restaurant and reception was excellent and the quality of the food was outstanding. A special thank you to George, who kindly managed to arrange our food order even though the restaurant was extremely busy. His professionalism and helpful attitude made our experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended — we will definitely return!

Lovely small, well-maintained hotel in the heart of medieval Rye. Comfy room, great bed. Nice staff. With shout out to Brendan who went the extra e to help return some valuable property we’d left in our room. Even walked the package to the postal office to send it on to us in London. Thanks! This is easily the best hotel in Rye, and, in my opinion, one of the best I have had the pleasure of staying at. Like many hotels the food was excellent, the service was excellent the rooms are beautifully decorated and the simple things like having a decent shower or bar are so well catered for. What sets this apart is the vibe of the place, you can feel the history, You can feel the culture that has been created in the team, who really understand customer service. From my first interaction with Harry on reception prior to booking, to checking in and right through every interaction I felt the ten were looking after my wife and I.

We had booked for 2 nights for our 34th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel would be perfect in winter, however in summer do not stay unless you want to try and sleep as though you are in a a sauna. No AC due to grade 2 listed building, room was like a furnace with a small inadequate table fan, Harry (who was amazing) did provide an additional fan from the reception however this had little affect. Tried to cool down by having a cold shower, this was not good as the water came out warm, in the end we opted for cold bath at night as well as in the morning. We checked out the following morning after the awful night, hotel provided a full refund after offering an alternative room, we did not wish to chance another night so we declined. Expedia were amazing and fully refunded our previous nights stay as well as credited our account with a generous amount which was totally unexpected as a form of good will gesture as compensation of our experiance, very kind.
