“Very easy to find with a large car park at the back. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The selection of drinks was great with it having its own distillery. The food was beautiful and freshly prepared. The room was just as you would expect and the bed was so comfortable! The set up overall was perfect. Would go back next time we’re there. There are also busses that run outside so no need to use your car.”

“From arrival to leaving nothing was too much trouble. I was on my own and the staff were more than helpful as to where to visit . The food was varied and excellent. Breakfast was basic continental but didn’t want any more. I make what I consider sensible comments not criticism and mentioned these to them. 1 possibly a small fridge in the room in view of current conditions but found out I was lucky and had a larger room so this wasn’t feasible throughout. “We can't recommend Storrs Gate House enough, such a good break away here. Susann and Glenn are amazing hosts, such friendly, lovely people. Breakfasts were incredible and definitely set you up for the day, we are missing those breakfasts! The house is so beautiful, our room was perfect, plenty of space and beautifully decorated. Our celebratory time away was made all the more special staying at Storrs Gate, we would definitely like to stay here again, thank you for such a lovely stay.”

“We have stayed in this Hotel on many occasions. It has recently been taken over by new owners, so improvement works are underway but did not interfere with our enjoyment. Disappointed to discover at check out we had to pay for parking at £15 per day. This was not the case in the past, when parking was free for residents. Good location with beautiful views of Lake Windermere”

“Upon arrival, our host quickly checked us in. The room was clean and comfortable. The property is conveniently located between the town center and Lake Windermere. We used it as a base to get to Helvellyn for a great day hike. The breakfast room and breakfast are wonderful and well worth the sitting. Overall a wonderful experience!”
