Great location close to shops, supermarket, cafes and harbour and not nearly as hilly as Torshavn. Very comfortable bed, good sized room (we paid extra for larger room) small but adequate bathroom. Amazing harbour views. Mini fridge in room was useful. Coffee maker with 2 free capsules, 1 teabag. 2 glasses but no cups, no spoon, no milk or sugar. Recommend eye mask if you find it hard to sleep in light. Breakfast was good, same hot items every day but good variety of other things. No decaf tea or coffee but this was hard to find anywhere on the islands. Parking was easy. Lovely walks nearby including a walk round a lake near the leisure centre.

Location

Nice functional hotel 15 minutes from the main town. It has basic food but you can walk to other good food. Yiu can get there by bus but in general touring the island is way more convenient with a car.

It is a decent, clean hotel at a convenient location. It's a good base for exploring the surrounding area. The rooms were pretty standard and clean. Our room was at the front and that was rather noisy, because it is located on a fairly busy road. The people at the front desk and at the breakfast service were very friendly and helpful.

Runavik is a small town of a couple of thousand people and this was definitely the best place to stay in town. It was modern, clean with good sizes rooms. But it was also limited - the restaurant only served sandwiches and burgers in the evening ( but the breakfast was excellent) and the TV only had a few channels, all in Danish. But it was well located, just yards from the tunnel entrance, was a short walks from a beautiful lake and had plentiful free car parking.

Me and my friend enjoyed our stay here, and would easily chose this hotel again for a second visit to Faroe. Conveniently located in the middle of the archipelago, in a town with at least a few dining options. Good parking opportunities (also a nearby overflow parking lot when it’s full in front of the hotel). The breakfast was good and the staff was excellent. Always friendly and helpful with whatever question we had.

The windows were soundproof, and the breakfast buffet was quickly replenished when items were out of stock. Everything was fresh and delicious, and there was plenty of time (7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.). Conveniently located, with a bus stop nearby, as well as shops and restaurants. The hotel brochure featured several restaurants and their menus. A small refrigerator for drinks and a coffee machine for pads were present in the room. A view of the harbor and moutains

The room is very small in this hotel. There is no air conditioning in this hotel. Therefore, guests have to open the windows all night long during summertime. You may hear chickens being killed after midnight if your room is located behind the hotel.

Disappointing behavior from the hotel management. By mistake, we booked the night of July 3rd instead of August 3rd. We tried to get in touch with the hotel via Expedia and directly, explaining the honest mistake in good faith, asking for a refund given the fact that we were going to rebook the correct night in any case. Since we never heard back from them, we rebooked the correct night. When we checked in on August 3rd, we asked the receptionist about our refund inquiry and she put us on the phone with the hotel manager. Even though we explained the situation, the hotel manager said ours was a non refundable reservation, and that she wasn’t able to discern an honest mistake made in good faith from other kinds of behaviors. When we asked her why she hadn’t replied to our inquiries, she said she had replied to Expedia (they didn’t share this info with us, so we will give her the benefit of doubt) and ignored our direct emails. This is bad customer service, and feels like they deliberately avoid to apply any common sense just to make a couple more euros off the back of customers. If someone explains the context and rebooks the correct date, there’s no reason not to be kind and understanding, unless you just want to exploit them. Good customer service and trust are worth far more than the revenue you can possibly make from not refunding a single night. We felt ignored and exploited, whereas during the rest of our trip the Faroese have been wonderfully welcoming.

Be sure to check tunnel charges during your stay. You may be better off staying in Torshavn rather than staying here and making multiple trips through the tunnels.
