However, the Golden Fleece was very clean, good supply of refreshments in the room, shower was powerful and hot water plentiful. “Approached down the sort of steep, narrow and winding lane that makes urbanites nervous, the hotel has a mercifully spacious carpark. Our room was very comfortable. The restaurant was good, and the waiting staff exceptional. Can't really comment on the local amenities: our short visit coincided with very high winds whipping the sea into massive waves so the beach was dramatic and sadly inhospitable.”
