This hotel has changed ownership and was renamed The Baikour Roses. While our reservation was not transferred over from the old owners, after showing the staff our confirmed and pre-paid reservation paperwork, they found a way to get us into a room that matched the reservation. The hotel has shifted to an all-inclusive format and we were given the full treatment even though our reservation only included breakfast. The meals were very reasonable. But, I have significant food allergies and that challenged the staff. Many of the meats were pork based, which was a problem for my wife who must limit her pork consumption.
The hotel’s location is excellent and served as our home base while we drove our rental car all around the area to see the historic highlights and to visit the Dali home and workshop in Portugal.
Our room had a significant mildew problem around the air conditioning vent. And we had a flaky room lock that was difficult at times to unlock. Housekeeping did a wonderful job cleaning our room before we occupied it. But it will take significant work to fix the mildew problem.
We will recommend this hotel with the assumption that the new owners will address the problems we’ve described given enough time. The hotel is already much better than previous reviews have described.
