Vacations Close To Mortero Rock

The upgraded "studio" room was terrible. I was incredibly surprised by the good reviews of this room and the hotel in general. They are going for a retro aesthetic at the cost of basic functionality. The elevator is odd and requires you to pull open a grate to get in. I get it, it's cool, but it just isn't functional to try and get yourself and bags in the door. The room layout was odd and had very, very limited windows. Kind of a cave. The night auditor had to search around to try and find an iron for me, but couldn't find an ironing board. Everytime another door in the hallway closed, it would make mine rattle. My knees were in my chest sitting on the toilet. Dingy old bathtub with grimy ring around the bottom... And it didn't drain. Awesome. All the coffee pods were decaf. Some real basic problems here. They did offer me a 30% refund. Still would've been 100% better staying at a Best Western. Avoid this kitschy disaster.

Room was clean and well lit grounds at night. Unfortunately check in was rough. Staff was so rude. While I was waiting to check in I was given a pool key. I went back to the reception and someone else was there. I tried to explain I had a key for the pool but I wanted to see if I could get a room key now and finish my check in. He interrupted me mid sentence and said "are you trying to check in? Let's cut to it so I can help faster" mind you there was no one else in the lobby. Rude and short for no reason.

A+ Great Hotel.. My wife and I will totally come back and stay there again.
