“The hotel was out in the countryside with excellent views over the moors. It was very clean and well cared for. Car parking was good. The room size, bed size, etc was great. One small problem - the room lighting was not very bright during the night time. The food was excellent and the staff were great. It was also a great place for walkers with great access to the countryside. I would recommend it.”

“Staff very friendly and welcoming. Room at the back, so no noise from the A66. Room very clean, well decorated , great shower, comfortable bed. Bar and restaurant very good We ate an evening meal, which was excellent. Continental breakfast was included, delivered to the room in a small hamper ,after completing a form the night before. Plenty of free parking. Would stay again.”

“Sorry to give such a bad rating because the hotel was fine. The issue was a wedding that had a loud disco and noisy drunk guests until midnight. I only got to sleep properly about 1am and was shattered for the next 2 days, it was a long drive there and back to get to the hotel and I was on a paid course so not a good experience.”

“The Buck Inn is in a prime central location on a picturesque street. I think some of the recent reviews are unfair. Richmond is an expensive town and most places charge £160 to £180 per night. The Buck Inn charges £85 a night for a double and that includes a very good breakfast. The room is a large en-suite with tea/coffee/hot chocolate facilities and a fair sized tv. Good quality toiletries are provided. The bedding is clean and very good quality and the bed is comfortable. The downsides are...

“As the name states this is an old inn. Room was decorated accordingly. Comfy beds with a reasonable sized ensuite. Evening meal was lovely and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good and cooked to order. All staff that we met were friendly.”

“Lovely hotel. Beautiful setting with an amazing view. The reviews we read before we stayed, said the staff were wonderful and friendly. Reviews often say this about hotels and we were just expecting the usual professional staff. However it must be said the staff were superb, stood out and had a major positive impact on our stay making it so enjoyable. The evening dinner very good. The breakfasts excellent. Definitely a place to stay.”
