“The staff, especially Reception and a young blonde-haired lady who had only been there about 3 weeks were exceptional. Having the bar & the restaurant on the top floor is a bit odd, but it is comfortable. The food in the restaurant was very poor as was the quality of the wine. The gentleman acting as Maitre was brusque, untidy and unwelcoming. We booked our table for 7 and were prompt. But he wanted us to have courses in rapid succession. “Great stay however the rooms were not overly clean. It seems housecleaning need to rush to get rooms ready and do a basic wipe over, but it is not really to the standard expected of a 4star hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and grounds and common areas were very nice. Food a little disappointing (plates hot but breakfast not). With some attention to detail this property would be really good 😊”

“No shower gel or soap in the bathroom. House keeping should check on the bottles of gel everyday. Room service was ok, but I won’t come back. I phoned front desk and house keeping numbers for several minutes and no one ever answer. Poor service ! ”

“Overall a beautiful looking hotel with excellent grounds, the staff were extremely helpful l, the property is outdated and the rooms require TLC! Breakfast was very good, with options for omelettes and pancakes, we ordered the omelettes, which were decent. Overall we had a good stay. Great location, just off the motorway.”

“I hate to leave negative reviews on businesses but I have to call out this place. The rooms were nice and looked clean. We were only here for 3 to 4 hours before checking out at 430am. During my stay here I started to get an itch on my arm while I was sleeping on the bed. I didn’t pay too much attention to it since we were very limited in time but during my plane ride home my arms started to feel itchy from time to time. “Hotel looked great online and like a 1970s holiday camp when we arrived with metal staircases and chalet rooms We also had a lovely guest decide to smash the room up under us and threaten everyone police called not 1 member of staff checking anyone was ok Breakfast was awful all in all never to be repeated again”

“Beautiful property in a beautiful village. Very large beer garden, large bathroom with a bath (instead of a standard shower). They provided a fan to partially compensate for lack of A/C (during a record breaking heatwave), but wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if ever in South Yorkshire. Easy FREE parking.”
