The main issue was the shower [room 113] - it was a tiny cubicle and should be expanded to make a slightly larger walk in shower. Any larger person would have difficulty being comfortable in there [and I am not that large] - also, there was nowhere to put your soap and shampoo. Otherwise things were good, helpful staff, decent breakfast and so on.

Great hotel, comfortable, quiet, excellent breakfast, nice bed, but the worst shower ever. Tiny, weak old shower head, poor drainage.

The Stracta Hotel Mosfell has great staff at the reception area. They were helpful and fun to talk with about Iceland. The hotel beds were comfortable. Stracta Hotel Mosfell has a sister property in town with hot tubs and sauna and we could use those facilities as well. The dining room was already booked when we arrived so we ate at the sister hotel and the food there was good.

Renovated and noisy

Looked recently renovated with new walls, floors, and tiles. The worst drywall job I have ever seen 😊. But very functional. There was a lot of noise from the kitchen until around 10 pm. Restaurant service was super! It was impossible to turn on lights on the patio, so too much light all night

The room was clean and furnished nicely. The space was larger than expected! The only comment I have is about the duvet and pillow coverings. While they were clean, and smelled nice, I wish the fabric was smooth rather than the waffled texture.

Long trek to get to room

The included breakfast was fabulous and the dinner (although expensive) was tasty. This is a huge hotel that is spread out and it’s a long trek to get to your room. Walls were thin so we heard our neighbors talk until 2am

Newly Remodeled Room - Very Clean

Very Friendly service!! We arrived at the main Stracta Hotel facility, not realizing that we had booked their newly remodeled property(Mosfell) that was very close by. We were instructed to the other property w/o issue. We were checked in by a very warm welcoming staff. It was explained to us that the property was still under re-model, but that our room was set for our two nights. The room was very clean and nice. The shower was a bit tight, but overall the room was good! I can't recommend the friendly staff more, they were great to work with, would highly recommend this one.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is currently being renovated (restaurant is closed so breakfast is in another hotel 10 minutes walk away) and my room felt like it had been rushed. The bathroom ceiling wasn't finished properly (grout missing from around the tiles and badly painted), there wasn't a night stand next to the bed, had two single duvets instead of one double. Just little things that they should do better for £200+ per night.

The room was clean and breakfast was good. Only complaint is our room was right above the restaurant and they were cleaning and moving chairs at night and people staying there starting very early in the morning so difficult to sleep

Super friendly staff who were happy to have us there. Simple hotel was great for a stop on our golden circle tour and bonus with breakfast included so we didn’t have to spend time in the morning looking for something to eat. Would stay there again.

Really the main disappointment for us was the sad state of the shower, shower is an enclosed unit that is incredibly tiny and the water temperature fluctuated from cold to boiling hot. Was very variable and random. The blonde front desk agent was literally doing four jobs by herself and maintain their very professional and upbeat manner. Definitely should be getting a bonus this quarter🙂

Disliked: Amenities
This hotel has received a recent update and the rooms have been tastefully modernized. The bathroom, particularly the shower is tight bit manageable. The issues experienced during our stay were with the hot water and the amenities. The shower controls appear to lack any sort of pressure-balancing valve. The result is that during even a quick shower, the temperature of the water can fluctuate between scolding hot and freezing cold. I assume that this is a result of changing water demands as other guests are showering or otherwise consuming water. A shower faucet with a pressure-balancing valve (which is common in most modern shower faucets) would address this issue and is a pretty normal piece of hardware to be installed in a shower. Note that this was not just an issue in my room. I was travelling with a friend and we both experienced this issue. I would say that the wild fluctuations in shower temperature, specifically when too hot, are borderline dangerous. Regarding the amenities, I went to use the dry sauna and hot tub in the evening. I entered the dry sauna to find it completely cold. As for the hot tub, the temperature of the water was tepid and not very enjoyable. I headed back to my room after spending about 3 minutes in the hot tub. I found this very disappointing, because I was staying at the Stracta Hotel after spending a number of days in the Highlands and was really looking forward to the sauna and hot tub that they advertised on their website.
