Every year, I visit relatives in Quebec City and always stay at the Grand Times in Charlesbourg. Location is closed to shopping mail, awesome restaurants and 10 minute drive to Old Quebec and walk path along the St-Lawrence River.

This hotel is about 20 minutes from Old Quebec. I love that it is very quiet at night with blacked out curtains, solid cemented walls so we had great night sleep. They have a few cafes and restaurants close by. It is walking distance from shopping mall. We had a car rental so we didn’t mind going to Old Quebec for day out or to eat. Hotel is clean, nice staff, speaks English. The only thing I would like to see change is extend the continental breakfast to 10am or 10:30 am at least. We came from the west so it’s hard for our us to wake up early with the time zone difference and after walking all over for sightseeing and activities.

The Grand Times Hotel is conveniently located directly across from Galeries de la Capitale, offering easy access to shopping and dining. Overall, the hotel was satisfactory; however, our room had an unpleasant stale odour that was noticeable each time we entered, which detracted from an otherwise comfortable stay. Additionally, we experienced a serious issue at check in when we were given keys to an occupied room. Upon entering the room, we discovered another guest was already inside. This raised significant safety concerns, as it suggested a lack of proper room assignment control and made us feel that guest security was compromised throughout our stay.

Overall, we had a comfortable stay and enjoyed several aspects of the hotel. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were nice, and we slept very well. The hot jacuzzi beside the pool was excellent, and my son loved it. Having a microwave available for guests was also a great convenience, and the free parking was definitely a nice bonus. However, there were some issues that affected our experience. The biggest problem was the limited supply of complimentary drinking water. For such a large hotel, especially in the middle of summer, the amount available in the lobby was far too limited. We had to repeatedly ask for more water, which became frustrating. The breakfast was also quite expensive for what was offered, so we felt it was not good value and decided not to use it. We were very disappointed with the pool. Despite the rules against jumping and diving, several children were constantly jumping and splashing without being properly supervised. The pool area also had significant echo, making the noise extremely loud and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, we left the pool feeling stressed and with a headache. The kettle in our room was also very dirty, so I did not feel comfortable using it to make coffee. With better pool supervision, cleaner kettles, more accessible drinking water, and more reasonable breakfast pricing, the overall experience could be much better. The hotel has several good features, but these improvements would make a significant difference.
