This place is great: very conveniently located walking distance to the beach and airport. The room was clean and had air conditioning and WiFi. You could see animals right out the door including an iguana in the garden area, scarlet macaw flying overhead and a sloth down the road. Great price. Will be back!

We stayed at Cabanas Tropicales before and after our overnight stay in Corcovado. The owner and manager were both very kind and very helpful. We were able to leave our luggage here while we were trekking in the park. The location is great. Close to the beach and good restaurants and only a short walk to town. The room is basic with air con and a fan and they offer hot water in the shower if you want it. Simple kitchen to use if you need with free coffee and tea. The grounds are beautiful. Many flowers and plants. Lots of birds in the area. It feels like an oasis. Highly recommend this place for a simple and affordable place to land while in Jimenez.

We loved our stay at Cabinas Tropicales! We had a big room with private bathroom that easily housed us and our two medium sized dogs. JeanCarlos the manager was super friendly and helpful, and we also chatted with the nice cleaner who had a great dog named Fiona who wore a helmet and goggles to come to work in the morning. The shared kitchen was well-stocked and the fridge available for our food. The property is gated so the dogs could wander around. The location of Cabinas Tropicales is perfect! An easy walk to the water for swimming, or hanging out on the pier with the locals who were fishing as the sun set. There are several restaurants very close and we also used the cruiser bikes one evening to toodle around the cool little town of Puerto Jimenez. Great empty beaches close by, and tours to Corcovado leave from down the street. We'll be back!

The rooms were clean. A bit of a musty smell, which gave me concern as I am allergic to mold. Managed to sleep with door open (unit 5, very private) and no problem. Bathroom just steps away. My only trouble was not with the Property, but with the entire family that took over the place. They were not at the property the evening before. The next morning I went to make coffee. Every pot, pan, and kettle was taken over by this group. Inconsiderate of the fact that this was a “hostel-type” property. No way to move around. I was looked at like I was an Intruder! I was very uncomfortable. The other travelers were most gracious and kind. As was the manager. I would stay again.
