Bear Run Cottage was perfect for us as we like to have more than just a hotel room. The cottage is beautifully crafted inside and out. The location avoids all of the tourist packed areas but still very close to the less visited area of Acadia called the Schoodic Peninsula. It's very rural but close to some bigger towns like Winter Harbor. There are some reasonably priced basic restaurants within a 10-15 minute drive. Be prepared with bug spray as the cottage sits back in the woods and mosquitoes can be an issue. We figured out when the best times were to sit outside. Also, a map of the area would have been helpful in order to find the walking trail to the beach. But other than that, this cottage was very comfortable and very clean. Perfect!
