We moved to Hanalei Bay Resort mid-vacation and wow are we happy we did ! True resort with lively swim/snorkel beach, restaurants and bar on site, beautiful immaculate private lodging with full kitchen and A/C and the most comfortable bed- HB Resort is truly that- a destination resort- with the most gorgeous grounds, tennis, pickle ball and truly amazing lagoon pool - beautiful views as well! Delicious food at both restaurants, easy parking and check in- staff were so helpful and stayed in touch via text during our stay- highly r recommend - a perfect vacation

Pros: Amazing resort - photos don’t do justice Lots of trails around the property for a morning walk/jog Beach it’s located on is easy to reach and beautiful. We were able to walk and swim from it down to the pier. Rooms are large and the full kitchen was nice for making food for the kids. Resort lends itself to families and multi-generational travel. Definitely an older crowd at this hotel. Cons: Room only gets cleaned every other day. No early check in - starts at 4PM and that’s firm. 15 mins to most restaurants and no fast food on that side of the island. Fairly secluded - even to get to Anini beach it’s 20-25 min drive Overall- would recommend but only for a few nights then move to a new location to explore a new part

Rooms were clean, nice beds, no house keeping which was fine. Awesome pool. My biggest complaint was that the restaurant and bar opened at 3pm daily and was completely closed on Tuesday. There are lots of vacation rentals in the area the restaurants on the property need to be open, there are not enough restaurants nearby.

The resort was beautiful. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. The person who checked us in didn’t give us directions to our room( only a map) and she didn’t tell us there was a service to take us to room. The resort is very big. We could find our room, until a staff member on a cart took us to our room.

Beautiful property sitting right on Hanalei Bay. Views of the mountains at sunset during dinner at the pizza restaurant were breathtaking. Not too far from hiking trails. I’m an outdoors person so this location was ideal for me. I was able to take the shuttle from the Makai Club to Haena State Park. The Maika Club was only a mile away. I loved every moment of being at this resort. There’s a koi fish pond right in front at check in and at night there’s tiki torches that light the property. It’s such a unique resort that pays special attention to detail.

The resort location is gorgeous, but it’s an older property that needs better insect management. We had a few cockroaches in the bathroom and on our living room walls. We wrote them off to Kauai moist climate at first, but when we found a roach in our bed, that was the end of our patience. We checked out early. Front desk was unfazed. It’s a timeshare resort. So it has seen a better day. Reception is run by young and inexperienced staff. It felt like they were there for the summer and really didn’t care about anything. The beach is a steep walk down the hill - if you are bringing toys and all the stuff for the kids, it’s a journey. But you can use their golf cart. The beach and the pool were our favorite during this trip.

Hanalei Bay Resort exceeded ALL of our expectations! This is the most beautiful resort we have ever seen! The views are breathtaking no matter where you are at the Resort. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The Resort grounds are well maintained, beauty surrounds you everywhere you go! Our 2 bedroom suite was clean, spacious and "homey" with a spectacular view from each sliding glass door. We enjoyed being able to walk to a gorgeous beach minutes away and if you don't feel like walking, no worries, there are amazing employees who will take you to and from in a golf cart. The beach also has jaw dropping views especially the beach walk towards Hanalei Beach/Bay. We LOVED the Happy Talk Lounge as the Hanalei Bay Resort is now our "happy place." We cannot say enough positive things about this very special Resort. We will tell all of our friends and loved ones all about HBR and we will 100% return in the near future because we did not want to leave. Mahalo Hanalei Bay Resort for helping my family make special memories together.

We loved our stay! Beautiful location, and view on the bay. Love the tennis access, the pool (my kids loved it as it enables a lot of games in the waterfall etc), the beach ! Very clean and quiet! We hope to come back!

Beautiful property and beach access key! Room was musty. My husband’s allergies went through the roof. Restaurants were delicious and priced well. Pizza was perfection. Both restaurants decorated beautifully and the staff were so friendly! No breakfast restaurant option other than a small market with coffees, bagels, and burritos that were as hot as Hawaiian lava! The overnight oats and yogurt was yummy. Pool water was freezing and unfortunately the hot tub was over run with young children the entire week. Definitely rent a car! There are no Ubers that far north and nothing is walking distance. Fitness center was sufficient and tennis pro, Mary was a doll!
