This was my second stay at the Martin Hill Inn, and it does not disappoint. This Inn is the perfect Portsmouth stay. The beds are comfortable and fresh, the space is welcoming and cozy with historical details and the location is ideal for walking into town. It's officially my go to place to stay in the area.

It was a lovely property clean, roomy and nicely decorated . Needed room darkening shades at night because the patio lights are on all night outside of the Noonday guest room. TV was difficult to manage as well- kept buffering

The property is beautifully maintained with beautiful flowers and the room we stayed in was incredibly clean and well decorated. Loved that it had a fridge with a separate freezer. Great location for walking to downtown Portsmouth. Unfortunately the people above us were very heavy footed (which is no fault of anyone at the inn) but otherwise the private entrance and patio made us feel like we were alone on the property which we appreciated. We did have trouble controlling the air and since it got really chilly really quickly we wished we could have turned the heat up a bit. But truly it was a 10/10 stay and I would 100% book here again. We come to the area frequently because our daughter attends UNH. We will definitely be back and will recommend to other UNH families!

This is a very charming old inn, a convenient walk to the main areas of town. Easy parking in a lot behind the building. Stayed 1 night with my husband and adult son in the Ranger Room, with 1 K bed and fold out sofa. The real bed was fine, but our son said the sofa bed had an uncomfortable lump all the way across it - and he's a small young man. We also had to look around a bit to figure out what bedding to use to make up the sofa. As the description accurately states, this is a DIY accommodation. No staff, no common areas except the gardens. When we had questions, we called a phone number and reached a service that had to call someone else to get the answer. They were very nice and got back to us quickly. We might stay again, but probably just for 2 of us.

We were very happy with our stay at the Martin Hill Inn! The property was extremely clean and our room was spacious and comfortable, also quiet. The larger size in-room fridge was appreciated because we could store our cooler items overnight (much easier than customary hotel fridges). The parking was safe and a short walk to the Inn through a very pretty garden, complete with a charming free library bookstand. We walked to market square easily for dinner when we arrived and again for breakfast the next morning, a nice bit of walking before getting back in the car. It was a bit different to never see anyone during check-in/check-out - but it beat waiting in a long check in line after a long drive so that was great. Highly recommend staying here!

Charming hotel very near the heart of downtown Plymouth. Newly refurbished, with high end touches. Lush, thick cotton bath sheet towels, fridge, comfortable bed and overall nice touches. Bathroom was spotless. One small disappointment though. The room had one overhead light, and two hardwired lamps on either side of the bed. One wasn’t functioning. My husband and I both read at night, and as there was only the overhead light, with no other lamps, it was disruptive to our sleep patterns. I was told they needed an electrician to repair the problem. Not a simple bulb fix. Perhaps adding a floor lamp, which can be moved, will help until the electrician can sort the bedside wall lamp out.

While we only had a one-night stay, but it was excellent! The staff is very attentive and helpful. Our room was pristine upon arrival and the bed was very comfortable! Beautiful property and we loved the garden, wish we had more time to enjoy it.

Parking was easy which is a plus especially in a city like portsmouth. The town is extremely walkable so we didn't have to use the car again until we left. The staff was friendly and attentive. They asked what kind of coffee we wanted and even cleaned our room which included changing the towels. If we come back to portsmouth, I would definitely stay her again

Quaint little Inn but a little more than a short walk to the downtown area. Very nice quality bedding. I wish the review for our room would have stated that it was upstairs at the Inn. Very short steps to manage with luggage in tow. Other than that, very nice place with a beautiful patio area and overall, the Inn is nicely maintained.
