Bruna was great! Very courteous and helpful during our stay, with recommendations for restaurants, day trips etc. We really loved the room, the windows opened right up to the sounds of the Douro and birds. A fantastic stay we won't soon forget!

1872 River house met all of our expectations. We were greeted on arrival by the local Isobel who was so helpful providing details for places to visit. Our bed was super comfortable and our room perfectly formed. Breakfast was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The whole house was immaculately clean. The house was ideally situated on the river and close to the old town for visiting the sights, and right next to the tram. We would highly recommend staying here. We had such a delightful few days.

Great location and wonderful staff. We were just a little disappointed that our room did not have the print doors as shown on their website. It turns out there are only a few room rooms without amenity, even though of the room without it are given the same classification.
