My second time staying at the Benson. I really enjoy this warm, friendly environment, beginning with walking up the steps to the lobby & being greeted by valets, to the restaurant with delicious dinner and morning cappuccino, all the way up to my spacious room via a secure elevator. The ambiance is classy and not stuffy. I am happy to be part of this historic hotel service.

It was an amazing stay, stayed there for 2 nights and everything was great! The only downside was there was not a bath tub which we didn’t realize before purchasing-that is our own fault though. Overnight valet was great and the staff was very nice and helpful! Enjoyed the stay

Restaurant was nice, although a bit expensive prices for breakfast. Better pick the room with breakfast included. It gives you a $20 credit, but I think that's only per room. I am quite certain you can get cheaper breakfast within a block of the hotel. Dozens of restaurants around. Anyway, pretty clean and very helpful staff. Note: there are a number of homeless people around the area. Don't let this bring you down. It's just downtown Portland. This area has lots to offer. I suggest walking south of the hotel.

The Benson is a classic. The lobby bar and restaurant is beautiful and the staff are always excellent. I had dinner in the English pub downstairs and it was a great place to eat and relax. The hotel is in a perfect location for all the sights of Portland. Highly recommend!
