The property was beautifully maintained and sat on the main street of Freeport. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a beautiful sitting room that felt both respectful to the age of the property while being updated and modern. The tavern and restaurant on property were great as well. It was close walking distance to both restaurants and shopping. It was busy yet didn’t feel overwhelming. Nice place to stay.

Wow, what an amazing hotel. Check in was smooth, courteous and welcoming. The room was fabulous and the beds - well, I’ve never slept in such a comfortable bed at a hotel! The only thing was the pool said it was heated but at 7pm when I went for a quick dip the water was lukewarm at best. Such a wonderful place in such a wonderful town. We have cancelled our original hotel on our last night in Maine and rebooked the Harraseeket, we are so impressed! Thank you

An exceptional property. Located right on Main Street, just steps away from shops and restaurants, it offers warm, impeccably clean, and remarkably quiet rooms. The staff is always helpful—ready to assist with anything you might need or simply to share a friendly chat. The atmosphere is refined, elegant, and inviting, with that classic New England charm that makes the stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast is generous, and the on‑site restaurant serves excellent dishes for both lunch and dinner. Parking is easy, convenient, and feels very safe. For kids, after a day of exploring, a dip in the beautiful indoor pool is the perfect way to unwind. A place that truly combines comfort, care, and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

the harraseeket is a classic old coastal inn and it’s been maintained beautifully. the rooms were very tidy and graciously appointed. the staff was super friendly and helpful. the restaurant on site is quite good. prices are comparable to chains in the area, so it seemed like a no-brainer to stay at the historic option. overall, we loved our stay and would certainly stay again.

Nice place. You can see marks of the age of the place, but it is well maintained. Very comfortable accommodations. Great dinner menu, and Billy the waiter was great. Standard continental breakfast. Loved the drawing room and afternoon tea. Plenty of parking and great location. Fiddly hot / cold water controls on the shower. We both tripped on one rug where the corner curled up in our room.

Nice pool, kids liked it. Great breakfast. Good location. However, the parking for the townhome was so far away and downhill, paths not well lit. Do not stay there if you have a cane or are in need of walking assistance. All the bedrooms are up steep staircase. Only one bathroom to sleep 8?? Bizarre. I asked the front desk for laundry detergent for washer and dryer in unit and they told me to go to CVS.

Authentic character is the stand out of this Inn. It feels luxurious just fron attention to detail and every staff member being kind and ready to help. Room was clean and came with coffee, a fireplace, chocolates, towels/shower basics, and even a hair dryer. Restaurants, pool, and gym all easily accessible within the building. Even the continental breakfast has staff to give you directions and a menu to select from if you want to pay for something a but heartier. The garden was astonishingly well taken care of, every bulb and tree carefully placed and maintained beautifully. Safe to say we will be back soon!

This is what a hotel stay should be like. Those little things that you don’t notice or really expect, when you experience them, and when they’re provided exceptionally well, they may seem insignificant, but when they’re done, you realize how special it is when they are. That was my experience at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, Maine. Every detail seemed to be covered. Every interaction with the staff, from the front desk to the custodial staff, was welcoming and professional. Every part of our stay exceeded expectations. It was a very nice and clean hotel with a comfortable but stately vibe. This was an exceptional hospitality experience. I would gladly stay there again and recommend it without hesitation.

We appreciated the clean rooms and facility. The grounds were groomed very well with yard games available. The Inn was located conveniently to downtown Freeport. It was very charming and picturesque. The only negative downside to our stay was the breakfast. The advertising led us to believe the breakfast was free. It was NOT, unless you just wanted a very limited continental breakfast. (And if you are gluten free, good luck, and bring your own pasties.) Anything hot or cooked was on a menu with an additional price. We feel the advertising was misleading.
