The best part of our experience at PlayaCar was the beach. Although there was sargassum, the beach was beautiful and the water even more. We also loved all the staff, they are all kind, accommodating and the service impeccable! The food was good, and the desserts were excellent. My only concern was that the pools were not very clean. We found hair, grime and dirt floating around most days we were there. Perhaps the filters were not functioning or the pools needed more maintenance more often.

I loved the nature look and atmosphere of it but they didn’t have much of variety of food, and only one kind of beer to serve.

Such a relaxing and wonderful trip. Hotel is beautiful and beach is soooo nice. Staff is outstanding, Every single staff member at the hotel was very kind and helpful. We really enjoyed the Italian restaurant. The food was delicious and the wait staff was amazing. The reception staff went out of their way to assist us. A very special thank you to Arturo who assisted us with printing paperwork required for our trip home. Even though it took lots of time, Arturo went out of his way to help us and did not stop until the task was complete. His kindness and support will never be forgotten. We look forward to our next trip to The Reef Playacar. If you are planning a trip to Playa Del Carmen you must stay at Reef Playacar!

The property maintained a high standard of cleanliness, and the staff provided exceptional service. The culinary offerings were delightful, and we particularly appreciated the varied menu presented throughout the week. The bar staff demonstrated remarkable attentiveness and courtesy. We highly recommend the Reef Playacar, rating it 10 out of 10, and anticipate a future return.

The hotel has incredible facilities, spacious rooms that are always very clean, and a spectacular pool and beach area that are beautifully maintained. All the restaurants were excellent, with great food and attentive service. The spa is beautiful, although the customer service there could be improved. A few points worth mentioning are the lack of elevators for guests with disabilities, the absence of beer in the in-room minibar, and an unpleasant urine-like smell around the pool towards the end of the day. The reservation system, particularly at the spa, also needs improvement. Guests who arrive with confirmed reservations should be welcomed and assisted promptly, rather than having staff request additional information or send them to reception for paperwork without first checking the system or making a quick phone call. Despite these minor issues, I absolutely loved my stay. The hotel is beautiful, and the overall experience was fantastic. I would definitely return and recommend it to my friends. It was a wonderful vacation, and I look forward to visiting again!

This was a fantastic resort! My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights during late September. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were taken care of. The staff took our luggage and handed us champagne upon arrival! We were given a very thorough overview of what our all-inclusive package included. We were given recommendations for things to do in Playa del Carmen and given a map of the resort as well. The setup of the villas was incredible, being in the middle of all the trees and feeling like a tropical jungle was so cool and so unique, we loved that it was so different than almost every other resort in Playa del Carmen. With our all-inclusive package, we got to take a shuttle to another of the Reef resorts to have dinner at their Hibachi restaurant which was a cool experience to see that resort ad that portion of the beach. And speaking of the beach, the private beach at Playacar was PERFECT! There were 2 days where some seaweed washed ashore, but some of the resort employees spent hours collecting it and bagging it up so it didn't interfere with the Reef's beach. There were a ton of fun things to do within the resort, the inside of the restaurants, even the buffet, were beautiful and had amazing views. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful, and they keep the grounds extremely tidy and clean. We enjoyed eery bit of our stay here and would certainly stay here again!!

The room was clean and comfortable, though the phone didn’t work at all. The pools were clean and accessible but the amount of room at the pool bar in the water itself was very limited and provided little to no opportunity to use it. The staff were great and friendly and very helpful. The buffet was mediocre and not nearly as good as many I’ve been to. The Italian restaurant was terrible, staff was short and run thin. There was a bread/cheese bar that we were never offered, the food tasted like it came from a frozen dish put in a microwave and the meal took way longer to finish due to the lack of staff. We used the spa services and were very satisfied. I give it a 4/5 because the staff were great, otherwise it would’ve earned a 3.5.

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff and the whole area was clean. Saw a lot of employees cleaning and doing maintenance to keep the hotel in excellent conditions. Pool was very clean as well and the main restaurant “Chula Vista” offered a different menu everyday. I would just say that a few improvements are needed in the seasoning of food to make it more delicious but presentation is amazing!
