We have stayed at this resort several times; the location is easy to get to and from both Tulum and Cancun airports; the walking distance from lobby, beach, room, and restaurants are all convenient and easy to get to. The food was excellent and service was fast for coffee in the mornings and drinks in the evenings. We will come back to resort in the future.

The property was meticulously maintained and clean -- the staff worked non-stop to maintain the beauty of the property. The staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly! The food was very good; the bartenders at the pool worked at a super-fast pace and tried to please everyone. Just a wonderful place and a wonderful staff!

We stayed at Riu playacar for 10 days vacation on September 8-18, we really enjoyed the vacation, hotel was nice and clean, food was really good at the buffet and the restaurant, employee was very nice, the room was big very clean and beautiful. The bed was comfortable., the ocean was some days. Good some days bad with seaweed but warm water overall we had a really good time.

Food was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Resort was clean. Room was cool and comfortable. The self-serve food at the pool was nice and convient. We were however disapointed with the seaweed at the beach and the smell. Also, we would have liked to have an area where we could sit together as a group in the air conditioning in the evenings to socialize with our friends. We had to gather in our rooms instead.

The pool area and activities were excellent. House keeping was beyond excellent. Reception area staff excellent. All restaurants were excellent in services except in one where my party didn't receive good service. Overall the stay was very good and I recommend others to visit.

We loved the views and the ocean. One reason we like Riu is for the swim up bars. This particular location the bartenders seemed to be less concerned about serving us due to being engrossed in their own conversations. But it got better later in the day. But for the most part we loved this resort. Food was subpar compared to other riu we’ve stayed at But we will know what to expect if we book at this location again. Very nice rooms and very nice scenery.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. The breakfast was good but the rest of the food was terrible. Worst food we have ever eaten. They have multiple restaurants and most people just ended up leaving after a few minutes. We did love the entertainment and employees at the hotel.

I loved the friendly, smiling, and helpful staff, as well as the delicious food. The room was very clean and well maintained, which made my stay even more comfortable. The main area for improvement would be adding more entertainment and activities throughout the day and evening. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this resort to others. The wonderful staff, great food, and welcoming atmosphere made my stay very enjoyable.

The sargasso was pretty bad, the pools were very crowded and is the small resort and all pools are next to each other. We visited riu Yucatán and the entire family Have fun for the day. The staff is very nice, the food was good and different restaurants for you to enjoy.

It was a great experience for my kids and me. The resort is clean and beautiful. The beach was very nice and the staff works very hard to clear the seaweed daily. We enjoyed the fresh fruit and the variety of restaurants!

I had an amazing experience with Bernie. His energy and enthusiasm is truly contagious, making every class fun and motivating. Bernie created a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable to dance and let loose. Property was well maintained. There was always staff around cleaning, answering questions, or offering a drink etc.. The entertainment by the pool was great throughout the week and the bar staff were very attentive. Food was good at both lunch and dinner buffets. Only critique would be the general interiors and gym are a bit outdated and could use a bit of a refresh. This is my second stay at the Riu Playacar and I would recommend it.
