The guesthouse did not expect our arrival until Monday, although we had booked for Sunday. Unfortunately, we were then faced with a closed door and had to quickly find another accommodation on Sunday evening, which was anything but easy and also came at a higher cost. All in all, it was a very annoying situation!

Scrumptious breakfast and quiant charm...

Casa do Castelo is an immensely charming and quaint hotel/B&B - just like the proprietor himself. In fact, Casa do Castelo is so charming, that it's few shortcomings seem like features, rather than shortcomings. It is a perfect place if you want some peace and quiet, as the town of Atouguia da Baleia is very very docile; nothing happens, but in a good way... At our holiday in Portugal we spent time in 5-star and 4-star hotels (7 in total), but we did not experience a better breakfast than the ones we had at Casa do Catelo: Good bread, good coffee, pastry, homemade jam, fresh orange juice and scrambled eggs. Very delicious. Absolutely recommendable!

Nous avons eu un accueil du propriétaire très chaleureux. Parlant un très bon français il nous a fait faire le tour des points intéressants de la région, surtout le circuit longeant la côté, super point de vue sur la mer, magnifique. Chambre confortable avec terrasse, petit déjeuner copieux et savoureux. Merci pour ce moment prévilégié.
