Beautiful property and clean rooms. Perfect spot when you’re visiting the caves! Trains do pass by in the night, and were easy to sleep through, but light sleepers should reach out to the owners and get a quiet room.

The Grand Victorian was charming and breakfast was delicious, much better than a typical chain breakfast. The location is good and close to Mammoth Cave and other attractions. All in all, a great experience at a great price!

The inn takes you back in 1800 era with the ambience, decor and charm. The surrounding also reflects “frozen in time”. Stories from pictures, paintings, crafts displays. The rooms have modern amenities and convenience. Breakfast was simple and delicious, bacon, eggs, pancakes or waffles. The nostalgia of yesteryears permeates everything… very interesting experience. Staff was welcoming from reservation throughout arrival and stay … like visiting a family. Very convenient to see the Cave. Some people don’t like noise (2-3x a day while we were in the room) from train passing but we found that as a part of the charm as folks in the old days travelled via train and horse carriages … so this completes the nostalgia.

The owners, Gary and Karin, were pleasant, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful! The rooms are small but neat. However, there was a lot of dust throughout the Inn. I noticed cobwebs on the ceiling of our room. Not a lot of table space to put our toiletries, makeup, or miscellaneous items.

The inn is a fun place, stepping back into another time with many modern conveniences. A family style breakfast is offered each morning. Dining options are very limited in the community. We would recommend a stay at this distinctive Inn.

We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Victorian. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There is some train noise but we didn’t hear it after 11 pm so it didn’t bother us or disturb our sleep. Breakfast was great. We would definitely recommend!

An old railroad hotel, the Inn gives a turn of the century vibe. The many antiques and decorations maintain the feeling wherever you go, even as you walk about the property. The owners are friendly and available to assist with ideas for dinner or nearby activities. I have to admit, the trains running by at night were unexpected, but, it's a railroad hotel. And we quickly acclimated to it. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Karin and Gary and the rest of the staff were so sweet. They gave us and the other guests so much personal attention. The breakfast is homemade and brought out to you, and you can just feel the love. The Inn took us back in time, neat place. We would stay again for sure.

The breakfast menu varied each day with the main ingredient changing. Access to the National Park was easy and quick. Very friendly and helpful staff full of in knowledge and stories of the inn and the environs. Enjoyed just sitting and listening to regale us with stories of the area and the inn. Very comfortable bed made for sound sleeping.

It was an interesting place and a unique experience. A lot of work has put into this place. Would like to have more surface area in the room and in the bathroom for setting things down. Need to have cups in the bathroom for brushing teeth and in the room for drinking water.one will have to carry heavy suitcases from the first floor to the second floor.Not for wheelchair dependent travelers. Overall, clean.
