Excellent location for bus and metro transport. The single room was modest having only a basin, but the close by wc and shower worked well and were kept clean. Great inexpensive Thai restaurant almost next door.

The hotel was clean, in a convenient location and had an elevator(big plus in an old building with character in Europe), but would be much better during winter time. We visited during the heat wave, and we only had one little fan that did nothing to help move air or cool the room. The fan we had was small, cheap and made a random and sporadic rattling noise. I did ask the front desk if they had another fan available, and they told me no. I realize the hotel has no control over the weather, and I don’t even fault them for not having air conditioning. It’s an old building, and AC is not the norm in Paris, but I do fault them for not having more fans for guest. Even without the heat wave a working fan would make sleeping more pleasant

Excellent experience at Hotel Port Royal. Very comfortable room. The place is very well located. The staff at the hotel are very kind and always willing to help. Paris is a wonderful city. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

The room was the largest snd best appointed of the three hotels in the Gobelin district in which I have stayed in the past three years. Breakfasts were generous and reasonably priced, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Very happy, would stay again.

Very nice. Classic Paris hotel. Well maintained, friendly and helpful staff, great location. Quite cool despite 39C heat wave - much better than colleagues at other hotels; room had windows to interior courtyard which is stone-wall and stayed cool. Fine, but not elaborate breakfast: Great coffee, nice croissants, juice, yogurt & cereals.

Port Royal is a very sweet small hotel and very conveniently located. Like many French hotels in the price range (mid) the room was small and there was no TV. Despite this, the room was immaculate, the staff was helpful, cordial and very professional. The area is perfect for seeing the sights and getting the feel of a real French neighborhood. We would definitely stay there again.

When booking it is not made clear that many of the rooms do not have bathrooms. As the booking is non-refundable it is not possible to cancel when the hotel - well known of the problem - inform you about this after the booking is made. In addition, the hotel charges you extra for using the shower. That breakfast is not included was not informed, neither at check-in nor when entering the dining room. Instead, it was overly charged (continental - but with no fruits nor toast) when checking out. The hotel is centrally located in a nice district.

This is by far the worst property I have ever stayed in. In fact, we had to leave. Ants on the walls, and our room was on the sixth floor. The fan didn't work properly so there was no circulation in the room. If it wasn't 11pm when we arrived, we would have left immediately. We ended up with bug bites all over. The manager informed us this is a "Zero Star" hotel. Really? It's actually not a hotel at all; it's a hostel. There are shared bathrooms and showers on each floor. We did have an en suite but we had to rinse the buts out of the shower before using it. This was truly a bait and switch and at $280, this was unacceptable. Part of the blame is on Expedia - and I'm still waiting for my refund for the second night. What an absolute disappointment!

En lineas generales, el hotel cumpió nuestras expectativas en relacion costo/beneficio. Las habitaciones muy limpias, lencería blanca y de buena calidad, para tener baños compartidos estaban siempre muy muy limpios! pudieran mejorar el desayuno, ya que es muy básico y existen mejores opciones para el huésped. Cerca del Hotel hay demasiados lugares para comer, beber y caminar, ademas que la linea 7 del metro te conecta con los mejores lugares y atracciones de la ciudad de París. Definitivamente volveríamos!
