The breakfast buffet was stellar. The room is average for scandanavian rooms, that is, smaller than USA average hotel rooms. BUT knowing what we were getting into, it was OK. Small shower, but doable, so nothing to complain about. Room was clean and the staff was great. The area is a little sketchy if you head down a few streets on the north side, but we were OK on that respect too.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I did not drive so I can’t speak to parking, but it was very clean and everyone on the staff was nice and the breakfast was good. The only drawback was there are a couple of pups in close proximity to the hotel and overnight, you can hear some of the chatter and activity from the pubs in the hotel room, so I don’t know if there’s a way they can put some sort of soundproof shade in to reduce that, but that would be my only thing to be concerned about. I really enjoyed the place.

We had an accessible room which was really spacious with a huge bathroom and a lounge area. The beds were really comfortable but the 2 singles kept sliding apart so not really suitable as a double bed. Breakfast was delicious, with a large selection of hot and cold options. Service at breakfast was excellent as they were quick to re-stock food and clear away dirty dishes. No bar in the hotel but there are 2 rock bars either side of the hotel which served excellent beer. We really enjoyed our stay.

Cons: The room was hot with no way to adjust the temperature and it was very loud in the middle of the night since it’s above a bar. If you open the window to try to cool down the hot room then it is very noisy below. The neighborhood is so-so in terms of quality/sketchiness. Pros: The staff were helpful. Breakfast was amazing!

The check in is friendly and efficient. The room is clean. We had a squeaky bathroom door hinge and they responded immediately. Housekeeping is very good. The blackout curtains work very well. The included breakfast is amazing for taste and variety. I was worried that the room might have a lot of noise but it is extremely quiet. Our room is located on an interior courtyard, not on the street. The hotel is located very close to the train central station and the bus central station.

We had a great stay at Thon Hotel Spectrum. The check in experience was superb & we were even able to check in early after arriving on the sleeper train. The room was spacious, comfortable, & clean. We had a coffee machine which was very good, & was topped up daily. As seasoned travellers we have had many hotel breakfasts but this was by far the best - plenty of space for a large hotel, so much choice & variety, & attentive staff. I would choose this hotel again in a heartbeat!
