The Barcelona all inclusive worked well for my husband and me. It is in a great location, very close to shopping, restaurants, and the Butterfly farm. The beach is pure perfection, no rocks, just soft white sand and crystal clear water. The staff was exceptional and it was obvious how much they enjoyed working there. The food options were varied and delicious. Highly recommend this all inclusive hotel!

Buffet areas are generally warm (temperature) and slightly uncomfortable. Pool area and swim-up bar is smaller and generally outdated. Foon selections, preparations and quality are great at the specialty restaurants. Beach area is one the best in the Caribbean.

Had a great one week stay at the Barcelo. Clean rooms, pleasant staff for the most part. The location can’t be beat. Right on Palm beach and across from a vibrant shop and food area. The food at the resort was okay, do not expect gourmet offerings and you will not be disappointed. Will be back.

Pool set up was great. Fabulous swim up bar. Royal level concierge was definitely the way to go! We felt very special. For an all inclusive the food was excellent! Private beach dinner for a special birthday was extraordinary ($240 extra) worth every penny. They went above and beyond. Amazing! We really genuinely had a fabulous time.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. The resort is gorgeous with plenty of space to lounge at the pool and beach. We celebrated our honeymoon at this resort 30 years ago when it was the Americana, and returned for our 30 year anniversary. The staff surprised us with a bottle of champagne in our room. Great experience! Highly recommend this resort!!

Seafood and Italian restaurants were super helpful with the GF requirements. Everyone is super friendly. Security is amazing! They were everywhere so there were no issues. Pool and pool area is very well maintained; washed daily. Even though it's an older facility, its very well maintained (generally at night and without noise). Beach is fabulous!!! Music is LOUD at both pool and shows. on a 7 day stay, different show available every evening. may want to consider shared cab roundtrip vs cab at airport. brief wait but very reliable. All servers were willing to accept cash tips; I was on family outing but would have felt very comfortable/safe being there solo.

Disliked: Amenities
The food here was a joke. It was horrible. Breakfast was the only thing we ate here and it was a bagel and some bacon. The rooms were fine. Our shower would flood and clothes wouldn’t dry after the beach after days. Main lobby bar was good! Good drinks. We literally spent no time at the resort after the first day. There were much better places to be. I feel the price was way over what it should be. I stayed at Divi before and that was way better. Location is great but never again for us!

Loved the island. Be adventurous and take the public bus. It’s so easy and cheap compared to the taxis.cant wait to get back.
