The property is in need of some tlc, our room looked shabby with cracked tiles on the bathroom floor that were an accident waiting to happen. The breakfast was the worst we’d ever had in a hotel with a couple of bits or cheddar cheese, cured meats left at 9.30am when breakfast finished at 11am. Food wasn’t replenished despite asking staff if they could add more cheese, meats and fruit. But then when a group of people showed up they bought out more reserves! The best bit about the hotel was its convenient location to the beach and Roker pier and lighthouse. We won’t be going back!!

Too many stairs to negotiate with heavy fire doors - a necessity I know but difficult to open with luggage and bags in hand. Bed comfortable but pillows uncomfortable at best. Staff were pleasant. Buffet breakfast was not as hot as it should have been and very little of anything.
