Always a good stay been here 2 times now and 100% best price and service. My number 1 choice for when staying in Newcastle close to where people I know live and extremely close to the metro and shops!

Great little pub very welcoming! The food was nice and at a good price. The rooms were a little dated and needed new silicone etc around shower area and the shower pressure wasn’t the best but was functional. Good amenities and comfortable bed. Was good value for the money we paid to stay. Would stay again if in the area.

Staff were friendly, stand at bar to wait to check in, bed was comfortable but it’s dated and not the cleanest.. certainly charging more than the facilities warrant.

Stayed here for 3 nights from Friday-Monday for an event. Located in nice area with good transport links. The hotel was okay but great value! The room was equipped with all amenities needed for a short stay. The bed was clean and comfortable. It was good to have an en-suite bathroom, but the shower wasn’t very clean. The bar/restaurant downstairs was really nice - cheap for breakfast in the mornings and had lots of food and drink options. However, it was extremely noisy at night and this kept us up because it was open late. Overall, great value and good location to get to event but wouldn’t stay here again on Friday/Saturday nights if you want to sleep before 12am.

Unfortunately we were unable to stay at the Longship. We arrived after our concert to a closed pub. In the write up it states check in after 2pm with no end time, it also states to communicate with the property for late check in to arrange access no one responded. Please change the wording in the advert to explain better checking in only in pub hours.

We stayed here while working in the area its a cheap and cheerful place the rooms were very tired but the bed was comfy so it did its job

The room was basic but very clean. Only downsie was that somebody had forgotten to empy the bin in the room before I got there and I had to ask for the heating to be put on as the 1st night was very cold, it did go on late in the evening on the 2nd night so all goo, but overall nice place, spot on staff and will stay again!

The Longship is overall distinctly average hotel. Its location is 1.3 miles from Jarrow and Hebburn metro stations which is handy. No breakfast options available, If your thinking of buying a Croissant for breakfast at the local shops forget it as they are at best basic. We had a lot of difficulties with the toilet roll dispenser, which is a terrible design, maybe it was just old. The shower is basic but functional, however it does not look very appealing either. Our worst night was a Friday....'DJ Night'. Thumping super loud music that scares the locals off and empties the pub when it starts, and it doesn't stop till 11:30 pm. A disgraceful decision from the manager to have DJ Night when guests are stopping. The food at the Longship is at best average, however the bar is well stocked with beer and spirits, which you will surely need in bucket loads if you stop on DJ Night. Buyer Beware!!!

Sat 16th August

My son and i stayed as we were going to the football. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, room was basic but perfectly clean, and exactly what we needed. Had a couple of drinks and dinner in the pub, everything was great value for money.

Staff very helpful. No breakfast week days. Most basic of rooms of any hotel I have stayed in. If you just need the cheapest, basic place to sleep, ideal. Wi fi is very weak.
