I called a week before to understand the proximity of places and recommendations for food/coffee/bagels. It was my lucky day when Rachel Covert answered the phone. She was pleasant, offered great recs, and put my mind at ease on travel options for the wedding I was in town to attend. Brady Rosario was equally great providing adequate notice to update my payment method and was super responsive. Hotel 48LEX is a beautiful boutique hotel, clean, spacious rooms, great customer service from team members, and the restaurant Cognac offers great breakfast, lunch, and dinner options!

We felt very welcomed when we checked into 48LEX — the staff member who assisted us was exceptionally pleasant. The hotel’s location is excellent, with easy access to the subway and plenty of nearby food options. We also enjoyed the restaurant attached to the hotel; the breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices. Our room was pleasantly spacious for New York, but unfortunately the air conditioning did not work well. We were told it operates on an environmental sensor that requires movement, which meant the room became too warm at night and made it difficult to sleep, despite the comfortable, firm bed. Additionally, one of the elevators was out of service for the entire weekend, leaving only one operational, which caused delays.

The location was perfect. Not too close amd not too far away from Time Square. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the lounge on the 2nd floor. The breakfast at the restaurant was surprisingly good. I would totally stay again. One of the best hotels we have stayed in while in NY.

There is no hotel shuttle or laundry facilities. One of the elevators was out of service most of the time. The in-room dishwasher leaked water all over the floor - not sure why there is a dishwasher as no dishes were provided.

The hotel has big clean rooms that are nicely appointed with good AC and fast elevators. There is a $27 resort fee per room per night of stay for use of the fitness center and for the complimentary wine reception every day at 5 pm. We did not go to the reception, but we did try to use the fitness center that advertised 2 peloton bikes. Neither bike was usable. One was missing the knob to adjust the seat height. The other bike was not connected to the internet and stayed off. Both were in bad shape and the water bottle holders were cracked off. There were only used towels strewn about and the water machine was broken. We informed the staff at the beginning of our 4 night stay but there were no improvements. This is a good hotel if you aren't planning on using the bikes. You also have to factor in the extra charge for staying there.

I recently stayed at Hotel Lex48 in New York City. While the location was convenient and the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful throughout my stay, the property itself could use some updating. The hotel feels dated, and the rooms would benefit from some renovation. I also noticed that the corners of the room were not as clean as I would have expected. One inconvenience was the lack of an ice machine—you have to request ice from the front desk each time. The lobby is quite small, and because we stayed on the third floor, street noise was very noticeable. The windows and walls are thin, so be prepared to hear plenty of the sounds of New York, especially if you're a light sleeper. That said, the staff was the highlight of the stay. Everyone I interacted with was welcoming, courteous, and eager to help, which made the experience much more pleasant.

I chose 48Lex because of the location and value. Both exceeded my expectations. However my interaction with staff was a surprise… I interacted with many staff members, (including the restaurant), and they were all articulate, professional and knowledgeable. From check in to check out they were all excellent.

Bathroom door was broken when we arrived. They sent maintenance right away but wasn’t fixed. Was able to move rooms right away. Room was clean. No fan in the bathroom which is odd. Good location. Friendly staff
