Just got back from Carolina Winds and I can happily tell you I will be returning at some point in the future. To get the bad out of the way, the property is a bit dated and the rooms do show signs of wear. Molding coming off, drawers that did not slide in correctly, But the worst thing was the rusted ceiling light in the bathroom and the general tired nature of the rooms. You have to give the owners credit for trying to make the rooms feel bright with books and fake plants. We even had an old coaxial cable sticking out from the floor near the living area. Overall, the view is BREATHTAKING from your balcony. The hotel staff were very kind and always there to help whenever you needed something. The pool was cleaned every day, and all the chairs and water balance was reset each day. One thing to note, is that the room service will come up right away, but they do not come into your room on a daily basis to clean and make the bed. When we asked for new bedding, it was brought up in a bag, and we were supposed to make our own bed. Not a big deal, but not really advertised i guess. Overall, now that we know hoe the property is, we will set our expectations a little better when we come back. SIDE NOTE! We booked on Expedia a King size bed with kitchen... but were given a twin bedroom. The front desk said that it was all they had, even though I booked this 4 months in advance.
