Vacations Close To Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center

When we arrived at the hotel we were told to walk to the Sky Tower, "It's up the escalator, and just keep going." We had four pieces of luggage and had no idea they meant, you are walking up and down stairs, hauling luggage up and down escalators and stairs, and walking around 4 tenths of a mile to get to our room. I know there were many seniors in our conference, I can't imagine how they dealt with that. When we got to our room, it was worn - which is to be expected. Tape residue on the ceiling, scuffed walls, but it seemed clean, Until we got to the bathroom. Which was NOT clean. Someone had used the toilet - and not flushed. It was crusted on the toilet, seat, and the floor was filthy. We hauled our luggage back to the lobby, to discover another person asking for a new room as well. They were unhelpful, telling us there wasn't another room. But did have someone go up and clean it in about 15 minutes, The damage was done. We had to haul our luggage all the way back to our room. They offered no help, no water, no nothing. Throughout our stay, they never asked again if we wanted another room. There was no follow up service. Also during our stay, the main escalator was broken several times, among others, making moving between the hotel and lobby difficult every day for five days. I would never stay at this hotel again. It desperately needs updated. It is a Caesar's Hotel, which I typically trust when booking, But this was a disappointment overall.

Very nice room but road noise is abominable and makes sleeping very difficult.

We love staying at the Nugget. The price is is very good and the rooms are beautifully done like a nice 5 star hotel. We stay at the Nugget every time we go to Reno!! 👍👍

The hotel and the location were great. However, the check in process was chaotic. We arrived at the hotel around 2:15 and went to check in, zero line, knowing that our room might not be ready yet. The registration person took our information and told us that check in started in about 30 minutes. Not a problem. This is where it got strange. There are multiple kiosks for self-check in and a couple people working. Before the official check in time, a couple people went to a kiosk and received their key. So, we thought we would check and see if we could as well. Turns out there was a $50 charge for getting your key early, which at this point was only about 10 min before the official check in time. I logged back out to wait. By check in time, there was a huge, single file line. I had recently hurt my knee so was sitting off to the side to wait until the line cleared. When check in started, everyone was waiting for the two staff members. I don't know if they could use the kiosks or not but it didn't appear that people were being told they could use them as no one at the front of the line went to them. A couple people bypassed the line, went up to the kiosks and received their key. So, we did too but it felt like cutting the line even though they were not being used. Could everyone use them or just people who stopped by a head of time and kind of prechecked in? Not sure but having someone directing traffic would have been very helpful to those that waited longer.
