We rolled into Mt. Shasta at the tail end of a long driving day, and Summit View Inn turned out to be exactly the kind of place you hope for on a road trip. Not polished, not trying to be — just genuinely welcoming. The room was bigger than expected and clean, and the little courtyard with the tables and fire pit ended up being our favorite part of the whole stay. We sat out there in the evening with the mountain right there in front of us and didn't feel any urge to be anywhere else. It's a small, independently run spot, and that comes through in the best way. Easy check-in, quiet night, quick walk or short drive to town for food. For the price, it's an easy recommendation to anyone passing through on their way up or down I-5. Thank you for a restful stop. We'd stay again.

A/C was not working all the way. Need additional space in the room no closet or enough space to put your luggage . No continental breakfast or coffee, no direction or instructions if available . No one available to answer your questions. On the other hand the beds were comfortable. Good location and good places to eat.

The surrounding mountians are amazing. Similar to where I live in the central Sierra Mountins. I was not aware there is no staff at the property to check in. A guy working on his jeep was able to pull up my room code. Because there is no staff I I messaged the contact number. The TV remote stopped working. I got a reply 6 hrs later. I was in Mt. Shasta for vocational training classes so I wasn't there to be "out and about" after long days in training. The room was spacious and nicely laid out. The local market is very expensive but has a variety of health food items. I would come back to this place if I visit again.

The staff was great. The room was clean and it had the bare necessities. The bed was uncomfortable. Instant coffee and a hot water tea pot with sugar packets. I would suggest bringing your own coffee pot it you want coffee. Some of the outlets did not work. They had 2 big grills outside that used pellets but I did not know how to use it. I would not stay here again if something better was available. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of choices in Mount Shasta or Weed and they are all overpriced.

We’ve stayed here previously because of how convenient the check in is. We use it as a halfway point for our roadtrips. This time though, we received a room that hadn’t been cleaned from the previous guests (bed was unmade, dirty towels on the floor, etc) Luckily, they have staff service 24 hours and they were able to quickly give us another room.

Nice cabin – type room, felt brand new. I found the bed to be very comfortable. They were able to accommodate my dog and there is a nice pet area. I like lodging like this where you can park your vehicle right in front of your room. It makes loading and unloading so much easier.
