Property was basic, nothing fancy but checked all the boxes for a great stay. For the price, the view, the area and overall experience, it was well worth it. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good food and cold beer.

Nice little place but the staff seemed irritated they had to work, and wasn't very friendly. Other than that the rooms served their purpose.

If you are traveling to Seward and need a place to crash that’s not to hard on the wallet, then this is an excellent and convenient option. The food in the restaurant was very decent and staff is very polite and helpful

The people were very kind and the resturant and bar below were very nice. Our room was clean but had a little smell to it and the floor had some soft spots in it especially in the bathroom. It worked for us because we were not there until bed time and left in the morning.

When booking you think you are staying in the Lodge, but you likely will stay in the motel down the street. Which was run down and very dirty. Yellow stained shower and toilet, unvacuumed carpets. The only redeeming part of this stay is the restaurant in the Lodge which had wonderful staff and great food.

This property didn’t require payment until checking in! Being a 1st time visitor to Alaska I requested to change departure date. Staff thought it was possible, owner totally disagreed & was NOT customer friendly!! The 2 check-in people were very friendly & helpful. Owner needs to take a lesson from his employees.

The frontdesk staff are very friendly and the food at the restaurant was good too. They made the checkin very easy but the rooms were terrible, not cleaned, the sheets were horrible and the carpet and the rooms as such were stinky!! Stay away!! Way too expensive for the rooms and amenities.

Everything was really clean and the staff was amazing - very friendly! Not a motel with amenities like a fridge or coffeemaker but it was comfy, safe and clean and that’s what I was looking for.

I had a wonderful stay at Trail Lake Lodge, and the kindness of the owner and staff really touched my heart! I accidentally left my SD card reader with precious vacation photos in my room. When I realized it and contacted the lodge, the lodge team was incredibly helpful. They found it immediately, mailed it back to me and even covered the postage, telling me not to worry about it. The wonderful hospitality makes this place unforgettable and I cannot praise them enough! It's rare to find a place with such caring and efficient service at a convenient location, and I highly recommend staying here!

The person who checked us in was terrific. We had a problem with the initial room and he gave us a complimentary upgrade. We really appreciated that. The listing says they are not white glove. Let's just say this is a man hotel for fishermen and hunters. Care was not given to dusting or comfortable beds and pillows. It would be nice if they invested in new beds especially. We didn't eat at the cafe, but I did look at the menu. The prices for Alaska are pretty decent.

We stayed for 3 nights to look around the Seward area. This hotel is older and a little run down but the room was clean. We were there before it was really even opened for the season. The owner was responsive when we phoned to find out how the check in process worked. The owner was very friendly to talk to which is what we prefer. Not fans of the ghost owners most of the properties we stayed in on this 15 day trip. The town where this hotel is was not much of anything, just a couple buildings. We would stay again if our itinerary worked for it.
