The AC in the room worked phenomenally. Staff were all incredibly kind and helpful. Room was big and had everything I needed in it. That said, the curtain did not close all the way and the bed was unstable on its wood foundation. Otherwise, this place accomplished exactly what I needed it to.

Hotel Ambrose is in a great location close to the Metro. For the area, it's a good value and the room was a good size, the air conditioning worked well, and the room was quiet. The hotel is in the process of being remodeled. The hallway carpet is worn and could use vacuuming. The room was fairly clean. Overall, the hotel was rough around the edges, but if value is a priority and you're willing to make trade-offs, this is the place for you.

The room was clean, but the hallways and steps were so dirty. The mattress was uncomfortable. It was near shopping center. The staff was helpful. They did not have parking for us. The shower was leaking with noise.

So happy Ambrose Hotel was able to accommodate us last minute when our other place fell through! It ended up for the better! Excellent location, on site parking, owners were so kind. The Rose latte in the morning was amazing. Thank you!

Inside the room was clean. Friendly staff. The carpets in the hallways and stairwells were dirty and badly need to be vacuumed (ideally the flooring would be replaced but a vacuum would help). Compared to the exorbitant price of the Sofitel down the street though, I would still stay at the place again.

This is an eclectic place under new ownership - currently under gradual renovation from a tired original. Its run by a friendly family trying to modernize and create their family business. I'd say it currently has more of a budget/youth hostel feel and there was some noise form other guests and strange features like narrow up and down staircases with fraying carpet. I quite like weird places so I enjoyed my stay and interactions with the owners but this is not (currently) a place if you want a traditional hotel experience.

I absolutely loved my stay here. The property is located in a great area, and was close to all the amenities I wanted to check out (about 15 minute walk from Centre Bell). Also the staff are amazing! Will definitely stay here again in the future :)

They’re in the process of renovating and upgrading their rooms… it would seem they’re rushing the process. In our room (at street level) the curtains didn’t fit the windows and were not properly hung, luckily I had a few carabiners to close them while we changed/slept. The toilets seat was falling off, and the fan didn’t work. The major positives were that it was close to St Catherine St. and had great pastries & coffee for breakfast.
