It is nice hotel with a good well laid out restaurant with good views and decent breakfast. Good sized parking lot, walking distance about 1km from downtown Sta Elena. The rooms we had were nice and clean, bed was comfortable with just screen doors with glass doors open and we slept nice and cool with sounds of the cloud forest. we highly recommend this hotel.

We had a fantastic time. The tours we booked through the concierge were excellent and our tour guides were truly special. Their enthusiasm was infectious. The resort staff very accommodating and cheerful and the food was outstanding. They were able to accommodate my gluten allergy very well. I highly recommend this hotel and destination.

Absolutely loved it! Beautiful location within walking distance of the main hub and onsite dining was delicious. Birdwatching and wildlife tours arranged by hotel were also top-notch. Highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

The balcony room was beautiful and the hotel restaurant is wonderful. We particular enjoyed breakfast and happy hour. It was very peaceful in the hotel. The only point for improvement would be the cleanliness of the pool - it wasn’t very appealing for swimming.

The Location was excellent, close to restaurants and supermarkets. The room was very spacious with a view of the surrounding hills. There were several trails on the property which were beautiful and interesting. I saw a family of Coati's one afternoon feeding on a tree at the edge of the property. That was a great experience. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. The staff was very helpful and several tours were booked through the hotel. It was a three hour drive from San Jose to Monteverde but it was a relaxed drive. Driving in Costa Rica is fairly easy.

Really great stay at Monteverde Lodge. The staff was friendly and courteous and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. It is a wilderness hotel with eco friendly policies and forest trails directly on the property. Breakfast was included and came with an excellent fresh fruit plate, toast and a freshly made marmalade.

We stayed at Monteverde Lodge for 3 nights and booked tours with them. The Concierge services were really helpful in organising transport to and from the hotel as well as tours. We started with a night tour and the following days went to Sky Park and Monteverde Cloud Forest. The transport was efficient. The Guides were fantastic- very knowledgable, friendly and were able to show us a wide range of wild life, flora and fauna. The spoke excellent English. The staff at the hotel were equally friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with very comfortable bed. The meals were delicious. We would highly recommend staying at the Lodge. It was easy to walk to the shops and restaurants in nearby Santa Helena

Our stay at Monteverde Lodge far exceeded expectations! The staff was very communicative in advance of our arrival for check-in timing and assisting with booking activities so that we could maximize our short stay in Monteverde. The property is pristine and rooms are luxurious; we were able to upgrade to an upper level Mountain Gem where the view from our balcony looked atop the cloud forest canopy teeming with wildlife; at one point, a group of koatis and capuchin monkeys were playing together in the trees and jumping on the rooftop of adjacent building right next to our room for a long time. The beds/linens were incredibly comfortable, the bathroom was huge with a walk-in closet for spreading out and there is excellent soundproofing between the rooms and the balcony doors so that you can rest quietly. The rooms also have very high ceilings for a cozy, cavernous feel. The guest atrium is a very beautifully decorated common space full of well-manicured plants and board games for downtime. The restaurant is very delicious too; the included breakfast was full of amazing choices with possibly the best French toast I have ever had.. and the lunch & dinner menus were amazing for the various diets in our group; truly fine-dining quality of ingredients and service/presentation. The lodge also allowed a late check-out without any issue when we had to rebook an activity that ran over by 1 hour, which was very accommodating. This place is truly excellent all-around.

All the staff were amazing. Friendly, happy, attentive and helpful. The included breakfast had excellent variety and freshness. We stayed 4 days and ate most of our meals in the Lodge's restaurant. All meals were delicious and their menu has more than enough variety. The gardened grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Our room looked out on the gardens and we could hear the sound of the running stream from our private patio. The room was clean and the daily housekeeping and turndown service was impeccable. The grounds had wonderful paths through the cloud forest which were worth walking daily to see and listen to the birds and white-faced capuchins.

We were going back and forth between a few different properties and we are so glad we ended up going with this one!!! The staff was amazing and attentive (especially Hamid and Kevin), the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible, the bedding was great, and the grounds made you feel like you were on a retreat. We loved the intimate feel and getting to know the staff. We were sad to leave but look forward to the opportunity to return!
