“We recently spent a night in a deluxe room to break up our return journey home from the Hebrides. We love older, quirky hotels and this one is a real gem. Firstly the grounds are stunning and our early morning walk beside the river was a wonderful way to start the day. The hotel itself has lots of character, but don't come here expecting polished perfection. Some areas of the hotel look a little tired and could do with refurbishing, but all the bits that mattered were fabulous and everywhere...

“A handy stop on our drive from London to Ullapool in a beautiful location, the staff were very friendly, the room was clean and more than adequate for our needs. We didn’t have breakfast but dinner the night before was good. Also handily close by was a small shop selling essentials and a garage with petrol where we were able to fill up and purchase an indicator bulb for the car.”

“Unfortunately another disappointing night at the Inn. Went for a meal, again staffing issues with chefs resulting in quite a few things not being available. I thought there was a wedding function going on as every now and then loud music would blast through the restaurant area but it was just the music coming from the kitchen area as the doors swung open and closed. Sadly in need of a makeover.”
