This is a beautiful, spotlessly clean eco-lodge just outside Mindo. The tropical grounds are vast and exquisitely manicured, while the rooms are large and inviting after a day of fun activities. It’s quite private. We enjoyed a lazy afternoon of recovery from a busy trip, reading and napping on the great balcony. Every staff member’s goal is for guests to be happy—each person was so impressive. Highly recommend! Note: We would never have walked to town, due to distance and darkness. A taxi is $2-3 to/from town center and takes about 10 mins. Everyone is friendly; you can manage without having Spanish. Mindo felt perfectly safe during our 4 days there.

I cannot explain how fabulous this lodge is. The service is impeccable, the rooms/cabanas are breathtaking and super clean, the food is divine and the local experience is like none other. Stop here! You have found your place to stay!

Highly recommend!

Incredible. Such a wonderful place to stay in the Mindo area. Really tucked away in the forest but only a 20-25min walk or $3 cab to the town. We stayed in the upper level of the lodge which was wonderfully positioned to watch the birds. Excellent service really recommend.

Rooms are clean but have no heating option and this is part of Ecuador where it's normal for 16-18 degrees C high during the day. As a result - you have to wear layers even when inside your room due to the open concept what most windows are nets only. I understand that the idea was that you listen to the forest fauna but that can be done from the balcony, inside I would prefer comfort (or an option to open the window if I really want to hear the forest). Restaurant was a hit or miss. Breakfast was good consistantly, but the dinner we went once and there we go: 1) table cloth was full of ants (changed upon request), 2) when food came mine was a wrong order (I accepted what was brought as I didn't want to have an hour wait for correct order) 3) when the food came it was barely warm, probably few degrees above room temperature. As a result remaining nights we were dining in town. Keep in mind we had a car so wasn't much of a problem going back and forth. I wouldn't do it on foot.

Casa Divina, es lo peor de lo peor ! Gente muy irrespetuosa, una experiencia terrible. No hay nada que hacer en el hotel, tienen un perro pequeño que es igual al dueño, las cabañas son de 2 pisos y se oye todo de cuarto a cuarto, no tienen agua caliente. El camino para llegar al hotel es terrible, no entra carro pequeño y no es doble carril, pero sobre todo el dueño es una persona muy irrespetuosa, comportamiento inaceptable.

Nice but not sure it was worth the extra travel

Mindo is beautiful but not easy to get to; it is at least a 2-hour drive from Quito. An Uber ride from Quito will cost at least $50 and once you are in Mindo, there is no Uber service out there so you must rely on local taxis.The lodge owners are friendly and well connected locally should you need assistance with anything (food, tours, taxis, etc). The lodge is beautiful, clean and well-maintained. The owners have a sister business called Sabina Tours which I found to be very pricey. I chose to take advantage of the (free) onsite hiking trails and bird watching from the 3rd floor observation deck. Dinner is family style and an added charge. If you want to bring your own wine to dinner, you will be charged a $12 corkage fee. They are very strict with their policies so don't expect them to meet you halfway on anything. For example, I needed to leave the lodge at 12:30am by taxi to catch a 6:00am international flight out of Quito. I asked if my 3rd night could be pro-rated since I was not staying a full night and would not be enjoying the included breakfast the next morning. I was given the option of paying another $70 to stay until 8:00pm (their "day-use" rate) or I could pay the whole night and stay until the taxi picked me up at 12:30am. I chose the latter so that I wouldn't be sleeping solo in the Quito airport but disappointed that they would not pro-rate my stay.

Beautiful location

Casa Divina is in a great location and is a beautiful accommodation, but a little overpriced for what you get. Two lovely trails behind the lodge are perfect for a morning or early evening walk. The viewing area at the top of the main building is great for early morning birding. The breakfasts were good, but not incredible and the prix fixe dinner overpriced and underwhelming.

Wonderful eco-lodge. Likely the nicest I've ever stayed at. Rooms are isolated, very pleasantly constructed with wonderful windows and porch hammock and surrounded by great fauna for birding.
